1  Re: More Art, Less Craft! Fall 2018 6x6 Art Swap in The Swap Gallery by Opalgryphon on: September 28, 2018 12:36:14 PM
Yayyyy!! I just got my gorgeous painting from jemimah!!  I'm so excited, she's so beautiful!  I couldn't have picked a more perfect swap partner....apparently we both have a thing for ladies and flowers Cheesy.

I just love the colors and textures, and that bunny! It's like a peek into her dream world <3

Thank you so much!

So excited to receive my journal from goatgoddess!  I can't wait to start playing with it  Grin

I think my favorite is the page with the sun, but the textures are just wonderful throughout!  Thank you so very much!

Thanks again for making my first swap in 5 years a great one!

3  A rock that looks like....a rock! in Random Acts of Kindness (RAOK) and Art Abandonment by Opalgryphon on: August 07, 2018 05:44:37 PM
It's been living on my table for so long that I almost forgot to post it!! I'll be hiding it tomorrow and will update with a pic of my hidey spot.

My inspiration....the time that we dressed my mom's pug up as a poodle for Halloween.  We dressed a dog up to look like a different dog....why not paint a rock to look like a different rock?  I forgot to take a before pic, but the whole thing looked like the under side with the labels.

Hopefully the shine and sparkle will catch someone's eye!

4  I saved my stained jeans with a floral paint job! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by Opalgryphon on: July 08, 2018 11:23:28 AM
Painting the kitchen in my good jeans was not the best plan, but in an effort to save them, I painted a flower over every splotch.  I think they turned out pretty cool! Plus bonus frenchie...she was very interested in what I was doing on her grass, and she's way more photogenic than her mom, lol.

If you want the whole story, you can find it on my blog.  I just wanted to share my success  Cheesy

Woohoo!  I've been on vacation for a week, and came home to find some awesome ATC's waiting in my mailbox!  Lets hope I can keep everyone straight this time!

I got two from cabaute....A 3D altered postcard from Virginia Tech.  The facade of the building is popped out, and it has 32 french knots, one for each person who died in the shootings, and and their names are on the back.  Thank you for such a meaningful card Cabaute.

She also sent a "Sidecar" recipe for my adult beverages theme!  Gonna have to try that one!

I got a freakin awesome octopus from faemystique!  He's not as hazy looking in real life....He's covered in some kind of very fine sparkle that reflects the light of my scanner oddly.  How did you make that finish? It's very neat!!

Thanks for making the end of my Caribbean vacation a little happier, lol!

Woohoo!  I was so excited to see a little card in the mailbox!  I got my first ATC from OathKeeper (edit: I totally got confused...I read the card and all, but marked it down wrong in my notebook...will go back and look at my pm to jilly in the am) for my Adult Beverages theme....it's an Alien Brain Hemorrhage, lol.  For anyone interested, here are the instructions I found online:

To make an alien brain hemorrhage cocktail, fill a shot glass halfway with peach schnapps. Gently pour Bailey's Irish Cream on top. After the shot is almost full, carefully add a small amount of blue curacao. After it settles, add a few drops of grenadine syrup.

Thanks for the awesome ATC OathKeeper!! Sorry I'm a little braindead K
>.<  Just a question....you said your friends have been making them....how do those actually taste? Wink

Here's the Dandelion ATC I made for Sunny Dawn......If she doesn't find it, I'll make her a new one!

I love all the little monsters, but the mustachioed monster is just so dapper, I love it!  And I can't believe my card made it to Wales so fast!  I totally gave a Welsh friend of mine hell about the ridiculous mailing address too.....glad I got all the spellings right Wink

I've been stalking Urban Threads for a good long time now, and finally decided to try a small pattern.  I <3 the little alien who <3's the cow!! I have no idea what I'm going to do with him now....any project suggestions?  I'm not sure I just want to frame/hoopla him....but I'm not sure I want to put him on a purse or journal or something where he'll take wear and tear Sad

The pattern is here: Abducted

Yay! I hope you like him!  I had fun playing with the textures and doing lots of stitch googling, lol Smiley
