1  Re: OTT 21 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by lindseycore on: March 20, 2009 03:34:18 PM
omg you guys!  i got my OTT from gamemom42 today and holy moly! i LOVE it.  seriously.  not kidding.

she chose my theme of stars...

it's a JAR OF STARS!!  mostly filled with origami stars (which by the way i just recently learned to make and i love them!) and there are also some other stars... a couple of cross stitched ones and some cute felt ones with things like beads, sequins, etc.  look at how cool this thing is...

from the front:

from the back:

a close up, i think the red star with the yellow heart and the blue beads is my favorite!!

and here is a picture with some scissors, to give you a good idea of the size.

i did my best in this horribly lighted apartment to get good pictures and this was the best i could do, but i promise the colors are more vibrant in real life.

i think i will take this to work to brighten up my desk!

thank you so much gamemom42!  you had nothing to worry about all that time!!   Grin

well i received the most amazing handspun yarn from belladune!  i am still working on the things to send her (oh i feel terrible since it has taken me so long).. i am anxious to get my items out to her because the yarn is so great!  i don't know what i will make with it!

the colors are even better in real life... those things just never come across well in pictures!

thanks belladune!!  your items are coming soon i promise!

3  Re: Shape, Color and Texture R3 GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by lindseycore on: February 23, 2009 03:27:55 PM
hey guys, buckeyebeadgirl asked me to post pics of the goodies i sent her because she can't find the cord for her camera.  sooo here they are:

first is the texture - smooth.  i made a leaf necklace.  i found this pendant and thought it was perfect, she said she likes nature-y things.  it was so hard to photograph, the leaf is frosted and has flecks of peachy gold in it... and so i used peach and gold beads along the chain with it as well.

close up on the leaf:

and a better view of the beads

next up is the shape - round.  i made a decoupaged wooden trinket box.  i added the mirror inside, and modpodged scrap paper to create the background and horse design.  my partner is an equine vet.

here is the top of it:

the side:

and the inside:

and last is her color - red.  so i made a knitted clutch.  now i have to say that this was my very first time knitting with cables, and really the first time i've knit anything other than a square (although it really is just a big rectangle!)  i added painted wooden dowels and a big bow.

the front:

and the lined inside:

i hope she enjoys them all as much as i enjoyed making them!

4  first projects - swallows, nest, stars, hearts, wire, oh my! in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by lindseycore on: February 22, 2009 05:12:18 PM
hi!  this is my first time posting in the jewelry category but absolutely not the last!  here are a few recent projects i have made:

first is my take on the "nestlace."  i added a shrinky dink swallow to make it a little more unique:

next up is a shrinky dink tattoo style design.  swallows + nautical stars = awesome!  it is a little on the large size, with the whole thing being about 4 inches long.

and here is something that just kind of happened.  i found this fantastic glass heart charm.  the color in it actually changes colors depending on the light, changing from hot pink to purple.

and a better representation of the color in the heart:

and last up is a simple star pendant.  i wish i could take credit for the wire star, but it is something i found at michael's.  i love the chain on this one.

comment and criticism are much appreciated... i have lots of plans for more jewelry, this is a lot of fun!  i am currently working on my own tree of life, as well as a few others.

5  cabled clutch in Knitting: Completed Projects by lindseycore on: February 22, 2009 04:15:04 PM
hi!  this is my first real knitted project, aside from a couple of squares.  i am now in love with cables!

pattern is from ravelry, found here

i actually reversed one of the rows of cables so that instead of being the same they mirror each other.  i too used dowels for handles, used a pencil sharpener on the end and painted them a cream color to match the ribbon.

here is the outside:

and the inside:

comments and criticism welcome!!

i received from buckeyebeadgirl and everything is AWESOME!!!!!

ok first i got 2 rolls... one for knitting needles/crochet hooks, the other is one big pocket which will be fantastic to wrap up small projects i am working on and also to put round needles in:

this is my texture, which was fuzzy.  the outside is the most AMAZING microsuede EVERRRR:

so cool.  my partner stalked me well.   Smiley

here is the inside of the two:

the pink is perfect and goes so well with the brown outside.  the little black ribbon is awesome too.  for some reason i didn't take a picture of them rolled up but they look awesome rolled up too, i promise!

next up is my shape, which was star.  i got these awesome beaded earrings:

sorry the picture is dark, it was the best i could do close up and it shows the color the best.

here is me wearing them:

and yes i just happen to be wearing my skull and knitting needles shirt, i didn't do this on purpose i swear.

and last but definitely not least is this beautiful turquoise bracelet (my color).  the red beads in it are awesome too, and my partner didn't even know that i am considering turquoise and red as colors for my wedding!  here i am wearing it:

and here it is on its own:

again, sorry it's dark, but i think it shows the detail pretty well.

and it all came with this adorable horse card:

i'm not sure if she made this but either way it is awesome!

and just for fun... here is my kitty julius, he was very intrigued by what i was doing with all these new goodies:

he approves!!!

thank you soooo much buckeyebeadgirl.  i had so much fun with this swap!

8  Re: Name swap Gallery 05/08/08 SHIP DATE CHANGED!!! in The Swap Gallery by lindseycore on: May 14, 2008 08:51:44 PM
oh my gosh you guys i feel like such a jerk.  i received over a week ago from cookiemaker but i was out of town for a few days, and have been ridiculously busy since then (working over time, seeing a lot of doctors)... so i haven't had enough free time to get on and post pictures.  i feel so bad.  but at last, here they are.  i love it all.

memo holder thingies.  i LOVE the colors.  these will brighten up my cubicle nicely.  one of the buttons fell off in shipping but that's easily fixable.

very cool sponge painted frame with my name in it.  again, love the colors.  and a black pouch too.  please excuse my cat's paw.  he likes packages too.  Smiley

crochet hook roll, and it came with furry yarn!  sorry it's blurry.

outside of the roll, with my name, obviously.  i LOVVVVE the big button!

cupcake pincushion.  the funny thing is, i saw these on my partner's blog and totally fell in love with them.  i never even told her that!  i love the blue, and forgot to take a pic of the bottom, but it's brown of course.  it's got my name hanging out of it too, hehe.  (the s is at a weird angle, sorry!)

awesome zipper pouch, i adore this circle-y fabric.  and magnets which my partner said she didn't like but i like them!

the inside of the above pouch.  i love this fabric too.  please excuse my creepy looking fingers, haha.

and last but not least... these don't have my name on them but my partner saw them on my wist and made them for me!  i looooove them.  they are fabric covered wall hanging things.  AND she included velcro, which is perfect, because my cubicle walls are fuzzy so they hold velcro things.  i think i'll be taking these to work too.

cookiemaker, again, i publicly apologize for being so slow with this... but i really do love everything!  what a fun swap.  thank you thank you!!   Grin

and awesome beatles pendants, hand-soldered!  pics on the front:

and lyrics on the back (i know it's hard to read, sorry)

and she is still working on the last item... boy am i excited!  i'd be happy if these were all i got!

thanks partner!  Smiley
