Thank you! I came back from Kyoto today and found I had three lovely comments about my jewellery! I am getting into it again now so will have to keep posting when I make other things. Joining a community like CRAFTSTER has been really inspiring!

I love the idea of being crafty but am not actually a very crafty person. I do attempt a lot of different crafts though. One that has stuck is beading. Especially earrings because they are quick to make and fit well with my short attention span! I have been making jewellery for about a year...

Here are some earrings I have made recently...I am a kindy teacher so don`t wear earrings at work (Because the kids will pull at them!) but I try to wear at least one set on the weekends! I really need to start making some more since I have a bead supply that just keeps growing!!

Here goes, please let me know if the pictures do not show up!

A closeup. I don`t really have anywhere in my apartment that is good for taking photos of jewelery so I only took a couple of closeup pics. These are to go with a new shirt. Green (and pink!) are my favourite colours!

Here is a necklace and a couple of bracelets. The two that are curled around can also be used as necklaces but I tend to use them as bracelets.

All of the beads were bought here in Japan or sent to me from Australia.

I am a little nervous about posting photos of things I have made but here goes nothing!!!

A bracelet or necklace perhaps with the odd buttons then? I like symmetry though too so I can understand!

Wow! What a great idea with the swirls!!! I am in love with the necklace!!!

ps: I adore your button jewelry too! I have some cute buttons (Japan is FULL of adorable buttons!) that I have been meaning to make into some earrings lately...Might start on them tonight!

Beautiful work!!!
I love the beads, they are gorgeous!!! Where did you get them if you don`t mind me asking?

I love the second one and the last one the most. But they are all fantastic! Great designs!

I want her! She is チョウかわいい!! Super cute!
We don`t celebrate haloween in Australia but since living in Japan I have had two dress up haloweens....as a witch and a cat! You must have had some cute costumes growing up!

I am amazed at what some people can do with crochet needles!

Great job!
10  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Introduce Yourself / Hello from Tokyo... on: October 28, 2007 06:05:49 AM
Hi, I`m an Aussie girl living in Tokyo....third year here now! I love the idea of crafting but to tell you the truth I am not very good at it! And half the time it drives me up the wall.

I like to make beaded jewellery especially earrings and I also like making cards with stamps and other funky peices of paper (Great living in Japan, you can find awesome paper everywhere!)

I have also started knitting...I knit a scaft last week. All in garter stitch...it has a few holes and I will never use it but it turned out ok I guess! I have since bought a couple of other skeins but have yet to knit anything with them. It seems anything beyond a normal knit stitch is beyond me! I will keep trying though!!!! (Although this passed weekend has made me want to throw the knitting needles across the room!)

I really want to learn to sew. Well I know how to sew, but I want to learn how to actually sew and make things instead of sewing straight lines which is what I did the last time I sewed (When I  was ten!) I am hoping that my mum will send me my sewing machine (the one I used when I was ten!) at Christmas time.

I love meeting and chatting withnew people, and have really enjoyed seeing some of the finished projects on craftster. It is inspiring!!!!

I can not wait til I can join a swap!!!

Thanks for reading!
