1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / Nursery letter bow holder... on: December 13, 2007 01:43:15 PM
I don't know if this is the right forum, but I recently made a couple gifts for a friend who has a baby girl, and I think they would make great baby shower gifts!

First I made her a custom bow holder to match her nursery. The idea is to clip hair bows onto the ribbon. Here is the first one I made using this idea, although it is not very attractive at all...it was my "tester"  Tongue But just to show how it works....

And here is the one I made for my friend:

Closeup of the rose (sorry it's kind of fuzzy)

She has a flower fairy theme in her nursery, with characters from the books by CM Barton. I decoupaged a few of the fairies on the letter, and I attached the long ribbon to it. I also painted one of these really gaudy butterfly charms I found at the craft store with fabric paint to match. To weigh down the ribbon, I made a rose out of polymer clay, which I then painted to match the letter.

Any comments are welcome! Let me know what you think, this is the first time I've done a project like this (normally I do clothing) and I had so much fun with it!

Oh, and here are a couple little bows I made for her too...they are on little alligator clips:

It's so cool to see people making stuff with my tut! (can you tell this is my first one? Lol!) So cute!

I call mine "sausage casings" because Mattea has really chubby little legs :p

I love how simple and elegant they are...beautiful job. And I'm sure your sick of hearing it but your daughters are BEAUTIFUL! (OK, a mom can never get sick of hearing that actually :p)

Does UV work better than a standard light for burning a screen? I've just been using a standard 150 watt bulb...a bit more time consuming but I dont' mind.

Those are adorable! They look like longies actually (for cloth diapers) I wonder if they could be used the same way?

And what  cute little model! Nothing cuter than a baby butt, striped or otherwise!
