very simple, but lots of meaning. :-)

2  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Favorite part of quilting? on: July 15, 2008 12:13:18 PM
The disappearing 9-patch sounds fun! I want to try that sometime. :-)
And I agree, seeing how things come out as you go along is fantastic.  I have just under half my blocks sewn together right now, and they're laid out on my bed. Just seeing that makes me even more excited to finish it!

I've only done binding once, but I definitely understand the desire for binding fairies. I suppose that as I get more experience, I'll figure out if I really hate it or not, but until then... ugh.

And I love the smaller pieces of fabric into a larger piece of fabric notion! That's how I tend to look at it, and it amuses and pleases me. :-D
4  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Favorite part of quilting? on: July 14, 2008 09:16:42 AM
I'm in the process of putting together a quilt as you go quilt right now, but while I'm working on it, I thought it would be fun to start a discussion on here.

I'm finding that each part of the quilting process has it's perks and annoyances - what do you like best about quilting? What's your favorite part of the process?

Since I'm still a beginner (working on my first twin-ish sized quilt), I find that I like sewing the blocks together, as well as the quilt top, but the actual quilting annoys me. Unless I'm tie quilting. Then I love it! lol.

I'd love to hear everyone's responses!
