It's the 100% cotton flannel from Joanns. I don't have much of a choice. I make cage accessories (hammocks, etc) for small animals like rats and such. There aren't a lot of fabric shops around here AND I don't want to spend too much on the fabric since I'm not getting paid much for it (and rats will chew it up in a few weeks anyway lol). I'm just hoping someone has advice on making it so it's not as bad when I prewash it.
I just prewashed flannel for the first time, and it looks so used. Is there any way around this?
When I put it in, it looks so nice and smooth straight from the store. But now there's piling all over it and it's just not as nice looking as it was before. I guess ironing it would help, but I feel kind of embarrassed using this fabric to make anything I am going to sell.
