11  Re: Postage Stamp Square Swap~CLOSED~SENDOUT BY JUNE 30, 2008 in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by audrey1999 on: July 14, 2008 08:33:51 PM
I have now received from everyone!  I have been diligently working away on my quilt and here is my progress.

Here is my status. 2200 squares that are 1" square sewn together- 400 red, 700 blue, 400 green, 400 red, 300 purple, 300 yellow, and 100 orange. I want 5 10x10 squares of each color. I am pretty close to adding another purple, red and green-maybe yellow.  Orange is slow....

Woohoot!  I started piecing some of my blocks together for the first two lap swaps!  It is missing three blocks and one made by me right now.  I can't decide  if I add another row on the bottom or make those into another baby quilt.  I am a little afraid that my machine will not be able to handle the bulk if I go bigger...or I won't be able to wrestle it through the machine Wink.  Here it is with the sashing not attached quite yet, but I had to share.

I love it!

13  Diamond Baby Quilt or my love of half-square triangles continues... in Quilting: Completed Projects by audrey1999 on: July 10, 2008 06:01:03 PM
So I finished another baby quilt last week, but had to jump on a plane and didn't have a chance to post.  I have recently loved the versatility of half-square triangle in baby quilts or any quilts for that matter.  I found this really cute charm pack by Moda called Maypole? and kept saving it for a baby quilt.

I decided to mimic the design with my quilting because I liked how it turned out on my zigzag quilt, https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=254340.0

I also did freehand quilting on the final border which was my first attempt at that!  I really enjoyed doing it and I really like how it turned out.  It was dropped off to my mom to deliver to my cousin's little baby girl this week whose name is Mary Laslie.

14  Re: Lap Quilt Swap III: Fall Edition (USA and Canada) in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by audrey1999 on: July 09, 2008 08:52:23 PM
I realized that my picture was blurry so I uploaded another one.

I am planning to make a quilt for my bed at the end of the swap and my bedroom is purple, green, and browns.  I have this wadded up down comforter that I want it to coordinate with.  It is too warm for the summer with no air conditioner!  I don't want it to be matchy-matchy but look okay with with it.

I know there is no orange in the comforter, but orange has been finding its way in all of my rooms recently so I think it will work.  Plus, I just really liked those fabrics.

I am sending a combination of greens and purples to the two groups I am in.  Each is approx. 9x9 or a little bigger and each person will receive a combination of 7 different fabrics.  I kept finding fat quarters that I loved!

There is a variety of designers including Amy Butler since it seems that several of us like her designs.  I also gathered fabric from Mobile, AL and Denver, CO so my fabric has already traveled a little bit. Smiley

I finished this quilt today for a new baby boy in our family.  It is 3'x4'.

I pieced the back as well!  I kept seeing pieced backs that I really liked so I had to try.

I used the this tutorial at Purl Bee http://www.purlbee.com/zig-zag-quilt/
