21  Oh boy! Cute tote with super reversibility powers! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by purevitality on: June 21, 2007 03:30:43 PM
This is only my second bag so I'm still working out the kinks! I'd welcome any and all criticism!

It was whipped up for a friends birthday and will soon be filled with beach goodies. I'd like to have done more with it but the party ended up being a day sooner than I'd expected! Yikes.

The first way:

Inside out or...outside in...:

A (bad) close up of the fabric, which i love love love!

Thanks very much for looking! Merry crafting!

P.S. It's actually not as lumpy as it looks here, my floor is a horrible model.

22  Trial and error Spring Dress (pic slightly overweight) in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by purevitality on: May 19, 2007 11:16:27 AM
Oy! it's not at all what I thought it would be... but it's something! And that counts right? Obviously, there are many mistakes. I like the fabric but as for the actual dress...not so much! Anyway, comments and criticism welcome!

This is a decent picture of the back. The band is out of place because of the awkward way I'm standing. EVENTUALLY I'll cut the loose strings...?

And as a thank you for my little brother who so patiently shot a photo shoot for me....

Yes ladies! He is single. He's also thirteen. And if you touch him I'll kill you. You know. happens.

23  A VERY late Sophomore prom dress in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by purevitality on: May 16, 2007 06:17:23 PM
This dress I whipped up a day or two before sophomore prom. I ran out of fabric after my first failed attempt. But even after all the stressing, no one really liked it so I ended up switching to my back up dress.

Anyway, why not post it? Three months after. I think I've now learned to accept it.

I was told I looked like an artsy amish woman? Ah well, we all have our opinions! If anyone has any ideas on how to make it better and therefore wearable for later... I'd be happy to hear them!

24  Two dress ideas need a bit of help to get off the ground.... in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by purevitality on: January 08, 2007 05:00:46 PM
I've got two events coming up (cotillion and sweet sixteen) and two dresses in mind! I've done a good deal of sewingin the past a number of which being dresses. I'm definitely not a great sewer... so if you think this is out of my range my dear gosh TELL ME! But anyway, here is a rather crummy picture of my ideas.  If anyone has any helpful hints as to how to approach them or even a similar pattern I could adjust I would be so grateful!

And of course, any questions, I'm very ready to answer!

Thanks very much!

Merry crafting!
