11  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Whale You Be My Valentine? on: February 13, 2011 12:07:20 PM
I borrowed the Twitter Fail Whale for the valentine I made for my BF, and turned it into the Love Whale!
(Please ignore my awful marker work)

Inside: Whale you be my Valentine? I'll dolphinitely be yours!
12  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: pink fleece jacket on: January 02, 2011 08:19:26 AM
Supercute! If it was made with a breezier material, that would make a nice running jacket.
Which magazine was the pattern from, if you don't mind me asking?
13  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Zelda swap round 2! SO 1/31/2011 on: December 28, 2010 10:37:01 AM
Nooooooo Sad
I'm making my sister a quilt for her wedding, so I've promised myself I'm not going to do any other crafting until I get that done--foisted by my own petard!
14  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: Tenby Harbour on: December 19, 2010 07:26:04 AM
This is absolutely phenomenal! I thought it was a drawing, because your stitches are so fine I can't actually make them out. Love it!
15  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: Woodland/Log Cabin/Northwoods Wreath on: November 06, 2010 08:43:45 PM
Absolutely gorgeous.
I agree, self-designed and -made are so much better than off-the-shelf pieces (and this just proves it!)
You really cinched the northern cabin feel, especially with the [pheasant?] feathers.
Great work!
16  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Re: Redshirts, set your phasers to stun! on: October 10, 2010 07:48:43 PM

Oh my, that is fabulous! Great job with the makeup--I'd love to see the full costume.
Ps, your Spock amigurumi is adorable :3
17  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: Film Reels and Boxes on: September 06, 2010 01:49:22 PM
If you were up for spraypainting the reels, maybe do a Warhol and mount them on different coloured backgrounds, 6 or 8 to a piece. I think a glass-front shadowbox would be a nice touch.
Or, you could mount them as sets of two, with the box on one side and the reel on the other, because really, the boxes are gloriously vintage and it'd be a shame not to use them too.

Duct tape top is a good idea, because you can sculpt on top of it. Another option is to use water-activated paper packing tape, which might be less insulating (I imagine you'd get pretty toasty inside a duct tape top).
Threadbangers has a great video tute (actually for a customized dressform, but I imagine if you cut it carefully, you could make it so you could slip back in): http://www.threadbanger.com/episode/THR_20090403
19  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / Re: Blood Splattered Heels on: July 20, 2010 08:55:15 AM
I won't lie, I cringed when I read the name of this post, expecting something atrociously tacky, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE them!
20  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Re: Pressed Flowers on: June 13, 2010 08:47:32 AM
Lovely! The pansies are my favourite, they turned out so well Smiley
Another flower that presses nicely and keeps its colour very well (and, I guess, would work nicely for small resin beads) are forget-me-nots, if they happen to grow/are in season in your area.
