1  EUROPE / SCANDINAVIAN/NORDIC / Kbenhavn? on: June 13, 2005 02:55:47 AM
Looks like I'll be moving to Copenhagen in september (YAY)! So I was wondering if there's any crafty danes around, to give me hints on where to buy supplies? I'll probably be living in the Amager- area, but anywhere in the city is fine...
I'm also concidering joining the copenhagen stitch n' bitch, does any of you know anything about it? (number of members, age of members etc).
2  EUROPE / SCANDINAVIAN/NORDIC / Norway? or thereabouts? on: May 20, 2005 08:55:12 AM
Am I the only Scandinavian crafter? Sometimes it feels that way... Let me know if I'm not alone!
Eller: er det noen andre som skjnner dette- s si fra!
3  KNITTING / Knitalongs / lost in translation scarf on: April 12, 2005 11:15:16 AM
We're trying to get a knitalong going making the scarf Scarlett Johansson is knitting in the movie "Lost in translation". Anyone who wants to is welcome to join, though we're still figuring out the pattern and stuff... anyone who has any ideas, please help!

Here's a link to the original post:

I suggest we start as soon as we have agreed on a pattern to use, so no definite start date yet....

4  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / lost in translation-like scarf on: April 07, 2005 01:30:08 PM
ok, so maybe I'm weird, but I've seen that movie 1243238 times... and I really want to make a scarf similar to the one Scarlett Johansson is working on in her hotelroom...
does anyone know what I'm talking about? it's blue, with wee holes in it in a sort of pattern, and made out of fussy (mohair?) thin yarn. and it's sort of smoke blue.
sorry if some of the words in the description are wrong, I'm not used to talking about knitting in english...

what I'm wondering is if anyone has a pattern for a hole-pattern scarf, or if anyone, like me, is a lost in translation nut and wants to figure this out with me...we could have a knitalong?

5  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / smells like teen spirit cheerleader costume on: October 24, 2004 01:12:27 AM
for halloween I want to go as one of the cheerleaders in Nirvana`s Smells Like Teen Spirit video. Does anyone remember this? I`m thinking black cheerleader-ish top and skirt, fishnets, and pompoms.
I`ve tried searching online for photos from the video, or ideally the entire video, but I`ve had no luck so far. Does anyone have any ideas? Help!
Also, any ideas on how to make pompoms?
6  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / aaaaand....poncho! on: September 03, 2004 01:43:18 PM
This is my first attempt at crocheting, and I think it went rather well! My face is scribbled on, due to stupid grin... The poncho is made from Alpakka yarn, and took me about 3 evenings to make. Easy as pie!
Let me know if anyone wants the "recipe".

ETA: "recipe"

My poncho is vaguely based on the pink one posted by Mandypooh, the measurements are the same.
I chained 18", and started dc in the next row, I chained 3 and dc in the 4th chain. Then I continued by ch 5, dc in 3, to the end of the row. Next row, I ch 5, and dc in the middle one in each hoop.

Here`s a link to the poncho I used measurements from.
