101  Re: Reading Rainbow 4 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by FicklePegasus on: February 23, 2008 07:50:37 AM
Here is the awsome bag and books Calsters sent me-

***Photo is sideways because Photobucket REFUSES to flip it the correct way***
It has a super long strap and the fabric is really cute city sidewalk/mainstreet print.  Lined with a maroon and white flowers.

West Side Story and Wizards First Rule.  I love the movie and play, but never read the book, now I can!  And I've looke dat Wizards first rule, but never picked it up.  The bookmark says "Thinking of you".  Thanks Calsters!  Thanks Astica for organizing!

This is what I sent Calsters (She said she'd post pics, but the weather has been bad up north.  SO I figured I'd post a pic til she can get good pics)

104  Valentine Dragon! Silly Kitty! And More! *LOTS O PICS* in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by FicklePegasus on: January 31, 2008 08:41:26 AM
I apololgize in advance for the terrible pics.  My camera is great at people pics, terrible at close up craft pics.  Everything was made out of Fimo Soft.

Valentine Dragon- Made because I had too much red and couldn't think of anything else

Silly Kitty- Strongly resembles one of my cats.  I didn't support her enough in the oven, so her legs bent.  I like her better this way

Aes Sedai Ring- I love WHeel of time

X-mas pins for neices and nephew (Spidey was given to my nephew, the girls got the candy canes)  The white parts glow in the dark

Comment, suggestions, etc accepted

106  Crochet ATC or My first ATC in Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) by FicklePegasus on: January 05, 2008 07:17:33 AM
I've thought about experimenting with ATCs every time I see one on this site.  I at first thought to try making a clay one (I was recently bitten by the poly clay bug) but wasn't inspired.  Then I thought, why not crochet?  I haven't seen any around, so I risked it.  Think I should make more?  Think I should leave it to the experts?

A little blurry, my camera doesn't like close-ups-

I haven't named it yet.  I'm thinking of putting a fabric stiffener on it.  I also haven't come up with a way to put my info on the back of it.  Anyone have an ideas?

107  Re: Reading Rainbow Swap round?? in New Swap Theme Ideas by FicklePegasus on: January 02, 2008 02:56:43 PM
We have 2 bookshelves, I've got them sort of organized (until the next move)

Bookshelf 1

row 1- Hardcover fantasy, children's, a couple I just found (in with our comic books) and haven't put in the right spot yet.
Row 2- Manga (There are more than Fruits Basket and Bleach, they're just behind those lol)
Row 3- Fantasy series(Forgotten Realms/Dragonlance/Xanth and Misc)
Row 4- Odd-sized fantasy and comic-book related novels
Row 5- Misc that doesn't fit anywhere else.

Bookshelf 2

Row 1- WHeel of Time (except for the one I'm rereading) and Star Wars hardcovers, misc
Row 2- Harry Potter, Discworld, Star Trek hardcovers, misc
Row 3- Horror, Sci-fi, fantasy, misc
Rows 4 and 5 got cut off  Sad
Row 4- the rest of the sci-fi series (Star Trek/Star Wars/Miles Vorkorsigan)
Row 5- Misc large books (old textbooks, dictionary etc)

A large pile of cookbooks in the kitchen and an even larger pile of graphic novels in the living room.  Our "guest bedroom" is full of crafting goodness and an insane amount of comic books.  No pics of those unless someone really wants to see them. lol

TwiztidBlood is having camera problems, so I'll post the card I sent her.

I included a Happy new year postcard too, but I didn't take a pic of it. (It didn't turn out as cute as the x-mas tree.

Balkandina, I too am concerned that my card hasn't reached you.  Sad

110  Mickey Wall Hanging/Pin Display in Completed Projects by FicklePegasus on: December 07, 2007 08:59:15 AM
I couldn't figure out where to post this, so here it is.

My Hubby and I work at the Magic Kingdom and my MIL has collected pins for most of the places hubby has worked (except for the most recent).  For x-mas, we decided to get pins for the current places we work and make a display for them.  First idea was to do a shadowbox, but we needed something unbreakable (they're flying in).  Here's what I came up with-

It's handsewn from a remnant of velvety stretchy material (if I do another one, it will NOT be from that fabric, it was a pain to sew), with a layer of foam in the middle.  I painted a wood dowel and used ribbon to hang it from.  (I can post making of pics if anyone is interested)
