21  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / My version of the Thorax cake (human torso cake). Edit: now with cut open picy. on: November 01, 2007 09:31:15 PM
Here is the thorax cake I made for our halloween potluck/murder mystery party this year:

It started out as this:

Liver and heart are cherry cake, the kidneys and lungs are dark choco cake, and the stomach was white cake with sprinkles. The ribs were melted white chocolete. The blood and gore were a mixture of corn syrup and glaze icing tinted red.

Then went on to this:

And in the end was this:

Cut open and in action:

For the party I also made:

Martha Stewart Egg Sacks:

Fun Fun Fun.

BTW I got the idea for the Thorax Cake here:http://www.theyrecoming.com/extras/pumpkinfest03/

I also indulged in the Martha Stewart kits this year and I got the test tubes for my dinner party... we used them as double shooters. I was really disapointed they didn't come with a rack.

You can't see it but on the back is a cut out "yum" so it casts yum on the wall.

Up North here we have something simailar at Red Deer College where it is a BoA in glass arts I think. My girlfriend was looking into glass blowing and thats actully the only resource we found close by. Which leads into my question:

do you know of any good introductory books for glassblowing? I would like to get her one for a present to go with a beadmaking book I found her.

28  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / Re: Our Halloween house (pic heavy) on: October 18, 2007 12:44:57 AM
this is great, I do the same thing each year too, but we just moved into a new house and soo I am having trouble with the placement of my halloween things... Angry, but I like the idea of using the room wrap on the outside of the house.
29  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Re: husband has wicked costume... now what about me? help needed please! on: October 18, 2007 12:39:39 AM
you could be witch-woman who was an enemy of jonny blaze (aka ghost rider the first), she even fell in love with him for a minute. here is some info on her, the costume is fairly simple - http://www.marvunapp.com/Appendix/witchwom.htm

also when jonny blazes wife died she turned into a character named the black rose... its on the same database if you want to search but theres not alot of info. Hope this helps.
