1  6 mint plants later....An edible wreath! in Dessert by QuickFlops on: December 18, 2010 08:51:41 PM
I bring you my wreath of cupcakes! The leaves were made by handpainting real mint leaves with melted mint chocolate wafers. Once the chocolate was dry, I peeled the real leaf off and viola!
All in all I made 126 leaves. It took a while to make the leaves, but was worth the effort!

The spare cupcakes were sitting around like this:

Here's one PERFECT leaf that I'm proud of  Grin

6  My first attempt at stenciling...Not too shabby! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by QuickFlops on: August 05, 2009 01:03:39 PM
My husband is in the Army so I went with that theme.

Here's the front is his green glittery goodness

I showed a waitress at Hooters and she loved it. Ordered one on the spot! Here's hers:
Same front, but a grenade on the back.

THEN my sister wanted one. Her hubby is EOD (bomb squad)

I think they turned out pretty good for a first try! What do you think?

7  Awesome Cupcakes..take that 'room mom'! in Dessert by QuickFlops on: June 02, 2009 08:35:58 PM
My son's 'room mom' decided that cupcakes weren't necessary for the end of year party so I decided to bring them in a day before the festivities!

Here's the yummy goodness:
Yellow cake with fresh grated lemon peel in the icing.
Marshmallow fluff/shipped icing filling inside

Then some from Hello Cupcake!

8  My Anniversary Cake With Homemade Buttercream Icing & Fondant Daisies in Dessert by QuickFlops on: March 14, 2009 12:07:37 PM
I decided to make my own cake for our 12th anniversary. I had daisies in mind, but no real design. I'm so happy with how it turned out. I took a cake class back in '98 and haven't really done much since then. Made with homemade buttercream icing and the daisies are cut from fondant.  The top layer is chocolate and the bottom is strawberry cake.
Here's the end result:

Plus 12 cupcakes (12 years)  Cheesy

9  Re: Resin Knitting Needles - TUTORIAL ON PAGE 6! -WARNING- may not work with epoxy! in Knitting: Completed Projects by QuickFlops on: January 23, 2009 01:07:51 PM
I used the epoxy Easy Craft resin for these. They are hard!

The glitter ones I made using the same resin didn't harden up as well though.

I was asked by a baker to make some wedding cake earrings about a month ago. She liked those so much!

Here's what she asked for:

Her signature cake:

And 2 for friends

Just a tad smaller than the plates.
