1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Urban Outfitters beanie--what yarn is this? on: December 07, 2005 08:11:19 PM
I've been admiring the yarn for this beanie the past few days: Marled Lurex Beanie.  I love its thick-thin quality and the tiniest hint of something glittery in it.  Has anyone seen something similar?

2  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Capelets, or How Do I Rip Off Pretty Designs I've Seen? on: October 10, 2004 06:49:44 AM
Well, I tried to resist the poncho and capelet trend, but ever since someone on this board posted a link to the Ann Taylor Paprika Capelet I've been in love.  I don't think I could make that particular capelet since I'm only a beginner, so I've been looking at some other styles on the Nordstrom website for some inspiration.  Two styles that look promising:

1.  Capelet with Bow.  This looks like the Paris Loop only with a lighter yarn.

2.  Frog Capelet.  It looks like a long rectangle with ribbing.  But would I need to make some decreases at the top of the rectangle to make it fit around the shoulders?

Anyone else interested in making these capelets?  Thoughts?

P.S.  Isn't the Button Capelet adorable?  For someone who never thought much of capelets before, I sure am obsessed now!
