3  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Patchwork jean outfit! LOTS OF PICS! on: November 04, 2009 01:00:30 PM
Here's another patchwork jean outfit I did for a little girl.  I used lace, ribbon, faux leather, buttons, rhinestones, sweater knit.....a whole lotta stuff!  They are time consuming but worth the effort!  I made a belt to match and embellished a tank top.
Nyla again was ticked that these are not for her!  I feel kinds bad that I don't even have time to sew for my own kid right now.  Sad

A lady requested this outfit for her daughter's 3rd B-day coming up.  I did a simple double layered twirl skirt hemmed in pleats.  The shirt is appliqued and has a rhinestone button sewn on, and the neckline has the same pleats.  She said she wanted sparkle somewhere in the outfit so I used organza for the cupcake icing.

I hope her and her lil girl love it!  I just put it in the mail!

Very cute!  I have had this pattern for 2 years and lie to myself all the time saying I will make it!  So many things to do...so little time.  Sad

Oh my goodness, what an outfit! I love it - looks so professional and the colours are gorgeous! I think I need to do something pink and grey for my baby now. Smiley Your daughter's a cutie too. Smiley

Thanks!  Gray and pink are awesome together, give it a go!

My friend asked me to design an outfit for her daughters B-day party.  She showed me these shoes and I got excited and decided to do an outfit that would match! Shoes are often the basis of my inspiration for an outfit. I have been wanting to do a peace sign outfit 4EVER!

These jeans were a lot of work, and the pics didn't fully capture all the detail!  Of course I had to rip the seams first.  I applied rhinestones, ruffles, lace, mesh, ribbon, buttons, fabric paint and ric-rac.  LOTS of applique and satin stitching work too. I sewed things in a way that will cause them to look better as they are washed since they will fray slightly in certain areas. I made a matching belt, and cut and altered a purchased tank top, making pleated wings on the sleeves. It kinda gave it a Star Trek feel, I think. Of course I had to make bows to go with it!

Mom and B-day girl loved it!  I was very happy with it.  Nyla begged for me to make her one and was mad that it wasn't for her.  LOL

I don't have action shots but the girl looked ADORABLE in it!

Now I have 3 more of these outfits to do with different themes. GOD HELP ME! Shocked

P.S. Don't sew when you're sleepy, otherwise you'll do dumb things like sew things on upside-down.  Hope nobody catches my mistake, lol.

I've been in a serious sewing slump!  I prepped and worked so hard on my fashion show in May that by the time I finished all my orders in July I was POOPED!  Lost all inspiration.  My machines went untouched for all of August.  Didn't go in Joann's not once.  And I took Aug. off, no orders. Anyone who knows me knows this is not at all like me!!  Well anyway, nothing like a good challenge from a customer to get me started again.

Little Chloe was turning 2 and they call her ladybug and lovebug.  So of course her mom wanted an outfit with a ladybug theme.  Most ladybug fabric I've seen is hideous so when I saw this at Hobby Lobby I flipped.  I made this up as I went along and was so pleased at how it turned out!

I did a super full twirly skirt and a my kiddie corset.  I decided to try something different and use rows of lace instead of lacing.  I made my pom pom headband to go with it.
It got rave reviews at Chuck E Cheese!
