4  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: 5 Foot tall Totoroctopus on: April 22, 2017 12:07:08 AM
This is absolutely amazing!! One of the best combinations I've ever seen! You could totally sell this at a a Ghibli store, I think people would go nuts for it Grin especially the face is extremely well done. How long did it take you to make it and what did you use for the eyes and teeth?

I don't even know how long it took me total because I worked on it slowly between other craft things whenever supplies arrived for it.  The eyes and teeth are actually stiff stabilizer fabric. Smiley
5  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / 5 Foot tall Totoroctopus on: April 19, 2017 04:26:11 PM

I initially had an abundance of this gray faux fur I didn't know what to do with and people suggested I make a Totoro. I really love cephalopods so I decided to give it long long tentacles with a forest fabric for the underneath.

Hard to get a full shot of this giant. From top of the ear to bottom of his tentacles it's about 5 feet long.

I also made a little Soot Sprite friend for him. I initially was going to stitch him so it was wrapped in one of the tentacles but I decided I didn't like it at the last minute.

He took a lot of stuffing and time but I quite love him.

7  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / The Meowniverse on: March 30, 2017 05:38:03 PM
I haven't spent this long on an illustration in awhile and I'm really happy with how it came out!
I used markers and colored pencils.

and here's what it looked like before I added the background... so glad I did

8  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Little Avocado on: March 27, 2017 07:50:44 PM
Was experimenting with trying to make more 3D shapes in my creatures, and I really love avocados, so I made a little Avocado toy!
Made with fleece and felt.

About 6 inches in height!

9  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Pumpkins! Three different sizes, two different colors. on: October 06, 2016 03:10:52 PM
I started making these pumpkins back in September because I'm pretty obsessed with Jack o Lanterns.
I made three different sizes!  Big, medium, and newborn.

Here are the 'Newborn' ones, in orange and black colors!  About palm sized.

The others are pumpkin 'Monstroctopi'  Part Monster, part octopus.  Furry pumpkins with stubby tentacles coming out!
10  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Two Little Monstroctopi on: July 07, 2016 03:55:41 PM
Made two mini monstroctopi! (Monster + Octopus)
Both about 5 inches tall, 7 inch antlerspan

This one I call a Mossy Monstroctopus, because the fur reminded me of moss. Smiley

And a Spooky Monstroctopus!
