61  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / I done went and made me a sweater dress!! *pic pudgy* on: November 05, 2007 10:58:44 AM
Howdy peoples! So what had happened was...I went to the beloved thrift store and purchased a rather large gray sweater. Mens 3XL to be exact and since I'm about a small/medium...it was biiiiiiiig

Compared to one of my sweaters...MASSIVE

But then after careful cutting and sewing...I came up with this baby

I'm quite happy with the result. I had to take the sleeves off, tighten up the body, tighten up the sleeves, reattach the sleeves, then reinforce the whole dang thing to make sure it wouldn't unravel on me. Didn't take as long as I thought and I've been rocking this bad boy all over the place Cool

thanks for looking!!

62  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / WOW this is getting ridiculous... only 4 pics this time on: November 04, 2007 09:39:08 PM
So this is a 2 post kinda night. I found more fabric in a bin and I got excited Grin. So what I did was make another bag but this time keep it nice and simple. Nothing too fancy because it's rather late and I'm sleepy but I still wanted to finish it.

So here it is...the Wanna Be Quilt Bag aka Spice Girls Bag

I thought the fabric was kinda weird and I'm alllllll about things being weird.
Lights, camera, ACTION SHOT!

As you can see, the fabric is seizure inducing, which is why it appealed to me

Again, it was made rather large, I dunno why, I just keep doing it. It's a compulsion really...

Alrighty, that's enough for one night.
Thanks for looking!!

63  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Step 1 is admitting you have a problem... *pic pudgy* on: November 04, 2007 07:42:04 PM
Hello all. Well I've been at it again. Tired really hard not to make any bags and focus on the fact that I have 2 tests tomorrow but of course I can't stay away. The sewing machine calls to me...

Anyhoo...what I did was I took a dress that I had almost finished but hated, ripped it apart and made a bag out of it. I love the fabric and it just felt better as a bag.

Here it is... the Huge Floral Tote Bag

It's on the massive side, shown with binder to see how big it is (Cultural Anthropology...don't hate Cool

Made lots of inside pockets again. One for my ballet shoes...

...and others for pens, pencils, make up, cell phone, and the ever important gum

A close up of those pockets it you're interested.

Oh yeah, if you saw my previous post (https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=205239.msg2190789#msg2190789) then you would have seen my massive paisley tote. Well that was a gift for a dear friend and I made a semi-matching bag for her 6 year old daughter. I thought it was cute so I figured I'd post it Wink

Ok that's all for now...

I'll be baaaaaack

Thank you for all the wonderful feedback everyone Grin

moonmom- I'm not much into horses either but I had to make it work. Tried to make something even I would use. But of course I was trying to make a good impression on my bf's sis Cool

Hi all! So this is my first official post...rather excited about it. Ok real quick, I've been sewing for a little while (self-taught) and I have an intense amount of fabric currently so I've been making bags out the waaaazoo. Literally. So without further adieu...

The Massive Paisely-ish Tote Bag

Obligatory action shot

The Ronald McDonald bag

Flipped this puppy inside out for you fine people. I use it for my classes, fits my ballet shoes, cell phone, gum, pens, and a highlighter quite nicely if I may say so

My Red School Tote

As you can see I greatly enjoy the orange polka dot fabric

This bag I made for my boyfriend's sister, she loves horses. Hopefully she likes it...I'm giving it to her tomorrow...

There's white velcro in there but you can't really see it in the picture

All the pretty horses...

The Heart Bag

Complete with zipper top...that was so much fun to put in...

Adorable Little Pink Purse

Inside fabric is my faaaaave

(Last one I swear)
Little Black Purse (looks blue, I know but it's this like velvety black fabric, found it in a bin in my room, who am I do discriminate?)

Then I went and made the inside confused about itself, it's red and that brown polka dot fabric on the inside. Colors are slightly off, many apologies

HoOoOoOkay...I think that's enough for now.
