1  trying alcohol inks on tile in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by neika on: August 15, 2019 09:10:06 PM
I have been playing with alcohol inks as of late.  these were made by pouring ink over the tiles and then lighting them on fire!!! which was also a really good stress reliever.  and to top it off they came out looking pretty good too. Smiley

2  boyfriends birthday tardis in Glass Crafts: Completed Projects by neika on: December 01, 2015 11:02:44 AM
what do you get the guy who has everything and you have only been dating a few months. i wondered this for a while and then decided i should make something for him that shows his nerdy side to the world, also i just bought a straight edge glass cutting tool... then i remembered why we started talking in the first place, Doctor Who. well what else could i do but make him a tardis.  i have also made a smaller one, maybe for me but not sure yet.

i might have set the bar a little high as now i don't know what to do for christmas  Cheesy

4  my first stained glass window in Glass Crafts: Completed Projects by neika on: December 19, 2014 02:54:43 PM
this project is something i have wanted to try for a long time, when I started thinking about what to get my grandparents who have everything thing and want nothing  i kept coming back to how they also have no more wall space for any more of my photos, then i decided to take a class on stained glass and I am hooked, this was the first of many things to make for family and friends.  it's a copper foil window.

this is it part way through, foiled but not yet soldered yet

5  when i just couldn't put away the fabric... wall art in Interior Decorating: Completed Projects by neika on: July 08, 2010 03:10:07 PM
i was at a craft warehouse one day wandering around as i tend to do and i cam across this fabric, it was in the fat quarters area, in a grouping of five i think, i was drawn to it, i picked it up and tried to justify what i could do with it, i couldn't think of a thing, i wandered around the store for about an hour trying to put it down but i couldn't, for a minute i even thought i could start quilting just to use it.  in the end i just decided i had to have it. about a year later i finally got around to pulling it out. i had these three frames my work was throwing  out, for a green hotel they were wasting a lot when remodeling.   so i pulled out the pics and replaced it with the fabric and ta da... art for my hall way.

i am really pleased with how well they correspond because they are basically the same pattern just different elements of the one main pattern.

let me know what you think of them.

6  green bag for friends birthday in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by neika on: January 15, 2010 03:08:54 PM
i made this bag for my friend for her birthday, I got the pattern off burdastyle.com and i made it out of canvas so that she could take it to the market and not worrie about if ripping.

let me know what you think.

the bag folds up so that it can go right in her purse so she will have it at all times.
