1  Seeking the Input of Fellow Geeks and Crocheters Alike in Crochet: Completed Projects by Murple on: December 17, 2014 11:40:20 AM
Fellow geeks and crocheters, I was tasked with making my father a hat that was suitable for wearing in public. After last year's "unwearable" viking helm with horns, and the year before gifting him a blue Santa Hat with Spock ears I think he missed being able to wear my gifts the other 363 days of the year he's not Christmas-ing.

I have succeeded and made a (booorrrring) plain navy "watch cap" but that wasn't enough (to prevent you from nodding off, I have neglected to include pictures). So I made this attempt at subtle geekdom. I'm just concerned it's either too subtle or completely indiscernible.

I received! Thank you so much, Sugar Rush.

Luckily I opened the box after my daughter went to bed so I should be able to sneak them out of the house tomorrow without her noticing. They will live in my office Smiley

3  Mario Mushroom Blanket in Crochet: Completed Projects by Murple on: June 30, 2012 04:15:22 AM
My best friends just had their first baby. They didn't find out the sex beforehand so they could be surprised so they did the baby's room gender-neutral. Obviously, Super Mario Brothers was the most logical gender-neutral theme for two geeks. I have been working on the blanket for MONTHS! It's from The Pixelated Mushroom (http://pixelatedmushroom.blogspot.ca/2010/05/pixelated-mushroom-rug.html).

So, on with the show!

They had a beautiful baby girl early this week, who looks just like her daddy.

I'm speechless. It's beautiful and will be hung with pride on my office wall.

After an agonizing wait (stupid, slow Canada Post) I received my package! Everything is beautiful! The elephant and the altoid tin will come to work with me Smiley The Serenity silhouette will be hung on husband's office wall.

What's peeking out at me?

Stickers for thieving little hands!

Beautiful Memory box

And this sweetie!

Since one of our group appears to have flaked I am posting pictures of the bookmark I made her. I hope that things work out and she can post her own pictures of this too, but I am proud of this bookmark and want to share.

I have never made a caravan craft before and thought this was an excellent idea.

The bookmark itself is basically a friendship bracelet like the ones I made when I was a kid.

Two book marks today, both with the same theme! I love them both. Now I just have to find my copy of the trilogy. Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics, Husband has the camera hidden somewhere baby safe.

Here is the lovely bookmark I received from TerraCruz! If I can find a picture that will look good with the bookmark I can punch out the hole in the center of the flower and it will be a picture frame bookmark!

Yay! Here are my goodies!

I love the ring. The keyring is awesome. I won't ever lose my keys and they will hopefully absorb some Stiggy talent. I really love the box everything came in. I will have to hide it from my 2y/o.
