11  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Proud of my moms baby blanket on: November 16, 2007 09:06:07 AM
I'm so proud of my moms crocheting abilities, I only hope I can be as good as her one day Cheesy. My mom made these baby blankets as baby shower gifts for family members.  I really don't know the time it took for her to make it and eyeore and grumpy bear were done with no pattern and the one for my cousin is granny squares.  I was wondering what would you charge for a blanket like these.  I only mentioned it because people have offered to buy one from her but they want to give her like $25 for it.  Do you think that's a fair price?  Let me know what you think of the baby blankets. Thanks for looking. Have a great day  Grin!

12  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / How would it look for a wedding to have.... on: November 04, 2007 05:32:33 PM
My brother and his wife to be want their wedding colors to be gold with orange.  How would that look?  I have never heard of a wedding to be gold and orange.  Have you heard of those colors used at a wedding and if so how did it look?  I really can't picture it.  And by the way the wedding is in January.  It's their wedding and if that's want they want does anyone have any ideas to make it work?
13  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / What do you think of Deceptively Delicious or The Sneaky Chef? on: October 31, 2007 08:33:02 PM
I just got her book and I think the idea is great.  But is their any other way to puree the food or use a short cut.  Do you think baby food would work?  I was just wondering what everyone else thought of it.  Or maybe The Sneaky Chef by Missy Chase Lapine is better.  Let me know your thoughts on it.
14  COOKING / Dessert / CAKE Octopus with sushi on: October 20, 2007 09:17:47 PM
I made this cake for a get-together I had invited to.  The cake is cut-up cake (for those who don't know it mean to turn ordinary sheet cakes into animals, objects, or people by cutting them up and using every part of the cake) I had more little sushi set aside.  Can you tell where this Octopus is from?

Have you figured it out ... it's from the movie Monsters Inc.  The octopus in the monster sushi restrunt, Harryhausen.

Let me know what you think. Thanks.
15  COOKING / Dessert / Proud to show off... on: October 10, 2007 08:34:41 PM
I'm proud to show off my mom's cake.  We usually work on the cakes together but this one I only helped a tiny bit.

It's 2 angus burgers, with 2 turkey dogs and a sausage being grilled on the beach next to it is the cooler with the sodas. That's what my mom says.

Just a note: it's a large photo if you want a better close up
16  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / LOOKING FOR: Fireman Firefighter Boots Baby Booties on: October 10, 2007 08:27:02 PM
I'm looking for the pattern for the firefighter boots.  I can't seem to find a pattern.  I have been looking for it but all I can find is already crochet fireman baby booties on e-bay.  I want to know WHERE DID THEY GET THE PATTERN?  Did they get it off a magazine, buy it, create it themself?? I want to know where did the pattern come from.  I would be a great help to me.

17  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / LOOKING FOR firefighter baby booties, hat and coat PATTERN on: October 09, 2007 10:41:04 AM
Hi, I have been trying to find the pattern for some firefighter baby booties, hat and coat.  I want to make it for a friend who just had their baby.  I have an idea of how it should look but can't find anything but the boots on e-bay.  I don't want to buy them because I know I can make them if I had a pattern.  I'm really not good a making my own crochet patterns.  I could really use any help anyone could give me.
