1  UNITED STATES / Oklahoma / Attn Anyone crafty in Oklahoma! Arranging my own craft show - need help on: November 01, 2009 01:15:15 PM
I am arranging my own craft show. I am from the Lawton area, so it will probably be held in Lawton. Should I get enough interested applicants, we could possibly find a venue in OKC area.

This will be a homemade and commercial show. Id love to see a beautiful mix of DIY creations along with Scentsy, Mary Kay, Pampered Chef, etc.

I am looking for anyone who is interested in selling their crafts please email me at marlanaleigh@gmail.com

This is in the very beginning stages I do not have a date set up yet, but I need people so that we can discuss details.
PLEASE e-mail me if you are interested.
2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / A Domokun cozy for my (not) ipod on: March 31, 2006 09:19:02 PM
So, we all respect and worship our fellow crafsters for the crafts they create and clever ideas they come up with, right? And sometimes after finding a topic, you've just got to make it for yourself!

So after reading a thread by "jamyjamm" about her Domokun inspired iPod cozy... I decided to take a stab at it myself.

I have a Creative Zen Xtra 40 GB (which I would like to brag it was way cheaper than the 3 GB iPod! HA! Tongue) which is a bit larger than the iPod, but still, I created this without a pattern so there weren't many problems.

After a quick trip to Walmart with a friend, I picked up my supplies (felt) and headed back home. This project cost be 87 cents and about two hours of my time

So, here's Rufus! (That's what I named him, don't ask! Cheesy)

Her's is pretty darn cute, too. Tongue
3  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Light Transparencies? on: March 25, 2006 09:33:49 AM
What would you do with these?

These are light filters, but I don't want to necissarily do something with light with them, so I need some ideas.

What I have is a "swatchbook" of all of the colors you could imagine. And I want to do something really cool with them, but I'm clueless. Huh

(P.S. If you are confused about what they are, just think of them a colorful transparencies.)

Thanks for any ideas!!!
4  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Brown Swirlies on Canvas done with a SHARPIE on: March 17, 2005 08:15:23 PM
When I bought the canvases, they came in a pack of 3. I decided to do hot pink swirlie things on the sides of the canvases because pink is my favorite color. Each of the three canvases would be different. But when I sat down and started painting, oh my gosh, the pink paint was very ugly. So I repainted the canvases. And then I drew brown swirlies on the canvases instead, with a SHARPIE <3 Oh yes. It looks amazing. Look below<3

Then of course, the SHARPIE that did it all <3

Hehe. I'm a dork. These are all going to be hanging on a wall in my newly painted room. Yayness.
5  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Yorkie puppy black & white framed photos on: March 17, 2005 02:33:02 PM
My sister's birthday is today (St. Patrick's Day), so I decided to make her some framed art for her room, because she is re-decorating. Anyway, she recently got a Yorkshire terrier puppy (cutest puppies in the world) and I decided since I'm into photography then her puppy (named Padfoot) should be the character in my photo-set for her. It is a black frame, with double white mats. I took three seperate black and white pictures of Padfoot and put them inside the frame.
6  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Victoria's Secret stripes on: March 17, 2005 02:22:40 PM
I painted my room! Before the walls were just boring off-white because I just moved into our new house about 4 months ago. Now they are creme and light gray stripes. It looks really really good. It's kind of Victoria's Secret stripes, except not pink. Smiley

The taping was horrendous. You'd think marking off lines with a pencil then putting painter's tape over the lines would be simple enough, but no. It took me THREE days. Here's a picture before the tape came off

I'm moving all my stuff into my room tomorrow and fixing everything up within the next few days. My curtains are sateen fabric, hot pink, which I have yet to make. My other decorations are going to be hot pink as well (my favorite color). Here's what it looks like now, without tape (duh).

It'll look a lot better once my stuff is in there lol  Grin I'll post more pictures to this post after I get moved in tomorrow!
7  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / My First Purse! Pink & red hearts on: October 17, 2004 01:00:58 PM

My first purse was a sucess! I'm so excited. Smiley I did it without a tutorial, just my own imagination, lol. It's even LINED, which I figured would be so hard to do! It's a really nice fleece, pink with red hearts I've had lying around for almost a year now. It's got contrast red stitching and a velcro closure. There's little bows on the side, too. Here's a closeup of the bow detail :
