1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / FOOD: a beaded donut? yum! on: December 18, 2007 02:40:47 PM

Isn't this the cutest mini donut you've ever seen?  I'm proud that I finally figured out the pattern (is was in Japanese and I do NOT speak or read that!!!)

I am hoping to make other food pieces when I get the right beads (a lot of the items require both 3mm and 4mm Swar. Bicones in the same color...)  Speaking of, anyone have a good on-line Swarovski retailer that ships to Canada?  I'd love to hear comments!
2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Beaded Drop - More weaving on: December 18, 2007 02:37:33 PM

I bought some new weaving books off Ebay and this is one design I had the right beads to finish... it's a beaded drop pendant.
(Unfortunately the books are in Japanese text, but the images are fabulous, and I was able to figure out most of the directions from them!)
Here's the link to the auction for the book: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120188933536, it actually contains some of the tutorials, including this one!!!)

It kinda looks vintage a bit, since I used some frosted crystals.  I love it!  Cheesy
3  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Discussion and Questions / Woven Bead-Donut Pattern? on: December 06, 2007 03:01:20 PM
I have seen this gorgeous beaded donut-pendant pattern in a book.  (I'm pretty sure it's THIS book, for anyone who MAY have the book in their stash somewhere!?!)

I have found a picture of the actual beaded donut on Flickr HERE:
Does anyone know the pattern I am talking about?
4  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Using pigment with resin on: October 27, 2007 04:37:24 PM
I recently bought these embossing pigments (and thought they'd make great resin coloring...  I was right!

My latest attempts created these:

testing my pigments

Pigment, stickers and beads

What do you think?
Does anyone else use pigment or other liquid coloring with their resin?  What were the results?  What did you like and hate about certain products?  I'd love to know!!!

5  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Resin Pendants *Updated - using pigments* on: October 17, 2007 07:23:55 PM
These are some pictures of my latest resin pendant:

I call this one Kryptonite:

I still need to add a loop to make it an offical pendant, but I think I might wait till I get my new Dremel to drill a hole in it instead  Wink

My latest resin attempts created these:

playing with pigments

Pigment, stickers and beads

What do you think?

6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Discussion and Questions / Tips for taking digital photos of your jewelry on: October 06, 2007 09:43:20 PM
Use the Macro setting, it usually captures the most detail on your typically small jewelry pieces.
If your Macro setting is still taking fuzzy pictures, place the camera a bit farther away from the subject as you take your picture.  Use your favorite cropping tool on the photo once the picture has been uploaded to your computer.

I know we all work very hard on our beautiful creations... I just wanted to throw out a few tips to help us capture this beauty to the best of our camera's ability!  Smiley

Happy beading and picture taking Smiley

I am new around these bulletin boards, but thought I'd start a thread for people who love to weave with beads!  (As do I!)

Zen Flower Pendant

Please share your weave projects here!
