oh wow, thanks spaghetti and barker!  i really appreciate your help so incredibly much!  craftychef, they are Kosher enough so that they have separate cookingware at home, but they compromise so that they can eat out sometimes, as long as the meals themselves are Kosher.  thanks for your concern!!

i think everyone should get her kits for virgin drinks!  you know, get different kinds of margarita/pina colada/sangria mixes and make it with ginger ale, and everyone can partake

What should I do with a finished product before selling it?  Should I wash my knitted/crocheted things?  If so, with what--regular detergent?  Should I sanitize the jewellery?  Help!

thanks SO MUCH!  I really really appreciate it, a lot!  I guess the couscous was actually a very short-grain rice then?  Anyway, I didn't know couscous was wheat-based (ha, shows what i know about cooking) but thank you thank you thank you!!

Our good family friends are extremely difficult to have over to eat because:

1.) the dad and daughter #1 are allergic to gluten
2.) the dad and daughter #2 are lactose intolerant
3.) the mom is allergic to citrus
4.) they keep Kosher

what's a girl to do?!  We made a rice-flour pound cake once that went over well, but used up all of our ideas last time (Couscous and plain chicken breast, a salad, the aforementioned pound cake).  Does anyone have any ideas, or better yet recipes, that they could provide?  thanks a million!!
27  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Re: So Many Raspberries! on: June 28, 2007 06:46:55 AM
I am SO JEALOUS! i LOVE raspberries.  You could make a raspberry jam, and give away jars during the holidays.  You could also make a raspberry coulis to drizzle over ice cream...or puree/strain them and mix with ginger ale for a fun summer spritzer.  Or... raspberry ice pops ( http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Creamy-Raspberry-Ice-Pops/Detail.aspx ).  You could also put them in your salads/breakfast cereal...ahhh I want a raspberry vine!  all we have are parsley plants because they're hard to kill.

29  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / t-shirt quilt pattern/suggestions/ideas? on: June 27, 2007 07:24:09 AM
hey y'all,

i have about 50 zillion old t-shirts that i really need to get rid of, but it breaks my heart becuase i'm a packrat and i feel that all my stuff has "sentimental value".  so, i thought i'd make a quilt!  though i usually do more knitting/crocheting/beading, i do embroider some, and i can use a sewing machine and all that.  seeing as this is probably the first and only quilt i will ever do, i was wondering if yall had any ideas or suggestions as to what type of pattern to use.  i love the look of the nine-patch pattern kind of pinwheeled around (i don't know if that made sense), but i'm assuming that that will be too difficult for me to attempt.  what do yall think?  and regarding the different fabrics of the t-shirts, should i just leave out the stretchier not-100%-cotton ones?
sorry for this novel of a question!  thanks so much for your time.
