1801  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: 4" x 6" Art Swap - Fall 2014(SU to Nov 3;SO Nov 15) on: October 22, 2014 09:13:44 AM
Hmmm. Let me do a little sketching and see how I feel about what comes out. I really do love this swap and I have been wanting to draw more lately...
I have been haunting the ATC swap doodling up their themes from time to time. I just never got around to finishing any of them.
1802  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: Frankenstein & Skulls Halloween Purses on: October 22, 2014 05:33:41 AM
That is so awesome to hear Calixita! It's always nice to know people are actually using what you send.  Grin
I was debating between the Universal Monster fabric and just Frankenstein for this one but The Bride was the deciding factor. I adore her. Had to have her on the bag.  Wink
1803  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Frankenstein & Skulls Halloween Purses on: October 21, 2014 01:20:39 PM
I kept saying I was going to make myself a purse. As long as I have been attempting to make them I have never carried one that I made. I always give them away. At the beginning of the month I was going on a trip to Vegas with my Dad and decided it was time to do it and make one that would travel well. I have made this pattern more than a few times and I still have one more request for it so it will be made one more time, but it really is a great pattern.
Here is my Halloween bag for October and probably for the rest of the year too.
 Frankenstein!

on the back is the Bride of Frankenstein. Sorry for the sloppy shot. I have been using the purse for about 4 weeks now and I just took a quick shot to post it up.

I also made one for Bunny1kenobi for the IYP swap. We met up in Vegas and actually got to meet which was beyond awesome! I knew her right away because she was carrying the bag I made for her!

I added zippers to the tops of both of these so they are a bit different than the others that just had the magnetic closure.
Thanks for looking and I promise after this next one I will find a new pattern.  Tongue

calliemae - very cute felted creations. Love the personalization for the Alien.
Inselaeffchen - Did you use distressing ink? Love that stuff. Gives everything that extra pop!
Bunny1kenobi - My eyes bugged out when I saw that Santa. I would have cried and gone insane and failed at that stencil. Insane!!
Ludi - awesome night light! Does it plug in or is it one of those tea light?

Project name : Skull Splatter

Brief description : I wanted to try a different kind of drawing. Not so rigid as I normally do. I had this idea of doing a line drawing and then using water color over it. I did the drawing and then water colored but it needed more so I took out my spray inks and gave it a couple squirts. I used green and teal sprays. I thought it had a kind of creepy look to it.  Smiley
1808  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Skull Splatter on: October 21, 2014 05:39:08 AM
I wanted to try something a little bit different. I had this idea of doing a line drawing and water coloring loosely over it. I never watercolor so I was just winging it. I chose a skull to get in the spirit of the season. After I finished the line drawing and water coloring I thought it needed more so I brought out the spray inks and gave it a couple squirts with both green and a teal. I think the teal has a shimmer to it which I liked.
The skull isn't perfect. This was more of an experimental piece. I also used a brush pen for the inking instead of a regular pen for a more organic feel.

Thanks for checking it out! Grin
