21  Re: Artist Trading Coins - Round 1 in The Swap Gallery by gozer on: October 11, 2018 10:49:31 AM
I received from CuriousFae last week. It was a super crazy week. Sorry for the delay in posting these. They gave me serious swap anxiety. They are AMAZING. I love them so much!
First up, these lovely ladies. So much class and sass!

My favorite, of course, is Louise! Those cats are fantastic too.

She also sent along all these beautiful extras.

Thank you so much! You are a master at these. I hope you continue making them so we can see more from you!

23  Squid Attack Purse in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by gozer on: October 08, 2018 07:25:55 AM
Hello! Me again. As I said before, I joined a Bag of the Month Club and it has really spurred my love of sewing back into effect. It's only been two months (the next pattern comes out the 15th) and I have made three bags now. This was Septembers pattern. It's by Blue Calla patterns and is called the Coneflower Cross Body Bag. The first one I made I am giving away as a Christmas present (you can never start too early on Christmas presents!). It's a lot prettier. You can see that one here: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=456034.0
This one was made for me. I like goofy sort of things and this one fit my personality better. I got this fabric from Spoonflower about 7 or 8 years ago I think. Again, trying to do all the patterns from my stash fabric. I plan to make this purse again, the next one for my Mom and I wanted to get the kinks out and practice in vinyl before I made hers (admittedly, I bought new fabric for that one). There are a few things I will change but for the most part I am happy with it.
The purse has two zippered pockets. One outside and one inside. It also has two small slip pockets inside for cell phones, etc. and one large pocket/compartment for larger items or thing you want to keep separated. I have my Kindle in mine and there is room to spare.
Front of purse (the pattern calls this the back but.. it's the front)

Back of purse with zippered pocket.

Side of the purse.

and the inside pic was blurry, sorry. You can still get the point though.  Tongue

Thanks for checking it out. I am loving sewing all these purses!

25  Wallets in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by gozer on: October 01, 2018 12:22:22 PM
This was my first time making wallets. The tutorial I used didn't have enough interfacing in my opinion so I beefed it up a little bit and added a touch more. Wish I would have fussy cut the fox a little more/better but I think they both turned out okay.

These are the backs. The blue and white one (yes, that's a dark blue) has an additional zipper. I didn't want to interrupt the fox fabric so it only got one.

the insides.

and the fronts...

Thanks for checking them out. I made them for the Winter 2018 STS. The fox has already been claimed.  Grin

26  Mirabelle Coneflower Cross Body Bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by gozer on: September 24, 2018 08:51:07 AM
Hello! I got the new pattern for my Bag of the Month club https://carriedawaypatterns.com/ on the 15th and was able to sew it this weekend. The pattern is called the Coneflower Cross Body Bag. I knew exactly what fabric I was going to use as soon as I saw the pattern. When I joined up I promised myself I would only use my stash fabrics for the focus fabrics. I’m trying to use this as a stash busting experiment. I did buy the cork to go with it. I have seen so many people using the cork fabric that I just had to try it and I knew it would look good with the Mirabelle fabric. I am really happy with how it turned out. I think it’s one of my favorite bags that I have made. I already have a couple more planned. One for me (this one is going to my bestie, Bunny1kenobi) and one for my Mom for Christmas.
The pattern shows the back as the front, but to me this is the back.

And this would be the front.

It has a zippered pocket on the back (what I consider the back) and two slip pockets plus another zippered pocket inside. It also has another pocket under the flap.

The sides have a nice accent of the cork. I was so nervous to sew with it but it was really quite easy. WAY easier than vinyl. You don't even need a walking foot.

Thanks for checking it out. I was so happy with how it turned out!

Brief Description: I joined a pattern of the month club (https://carriedawaypatterns.com) and this was Septembers bag. Its only the second pattern and I am so happy I joined. I am loving the patterns and it has been a great motivation. This was my first time sewing with cork. Apparently it's all the rage right now. I thought I would have to use a walking foot but you don't. Much easier than vinyl. I showed this bag to my Bestie, Bunny1Kenobi, and she claimed it as her Christmas present.  Grin I already have a couple more planned. One for me and one for my Mom.

Brief Description: I wish I had decided to make this earlier so I could have used another prompt but I will work it into this one.  Tongue When I was little I would sleep in my clothes and drive my mother crazy. Now that I am older I wear proper PJs. I made these and only realized I had the fabric upside down after I took the picture. LOL! No matter. They are for me and I don't mind. I made them way too big and I may go back and cut down the waist band so they don't sag down so long, or I will just make those adjustments on the next pair I make. I am always freezing in the winter and decided to up my warm pj pants collection early this year. Oh, and I added the cell phone pocket. Gotta have those nowadays.  Wink
