21  Re: Spring Nerd Battles 2018 Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by gozer on: May 18, 2018 06:20:33 AM
I checked on my package a few times and it seemed like it just stopped for a while on the 13th but thankfully it started moving again and I finally got it. And what a wonderful package it is! RedheadWithThread knows I collect the Monster High dolls like she does. She sews the most amazing clothes and she was generous enough to customize a modernized Red Riding Hood. I am obsessed with this doll. She is incredible. I can't imagine sewing this tiny hoodie! She did a fantastic job on it. It even has a little hole for her hair to come out! She also send me two fat quarters of some star fabric she has used before that I love. I am brewing up some ideas for them now.  Wink And a tiny hair brush for me new doll.

Here she is with some of her sisters on my Frankie shelf!

And here is a short of my full doll shelf. It's from the side. That's about a third of the dolls I have. I need more stands but I also have boxes full of unopened dolls too.  Tongue

And here is the star fabric I was telling you about. She used it as the interiors to some make up bags I believe. Love the star fabric! Thank you so much RedheadWithThread!

23  Planner Swap in New Swap Theme Ideas by gozer on: May 08, 2018 01:13:43 PM

I just got a new Mini Happy Planner. It officially starts in July but I have already been adding my stickers and coloring it up. I absolutely cannot wait to use this thing! I have been buying stickers and I have a bunch that I know I will not use. I also saw a bunch of supplies (bookmarks, page bands, extra pages) that I am sure I can make. There are even stickers made with the Silhouette!
I'm not sure if this has been done before but is anyone interested in a Planner Swap? We could swap supplies and a small crafted item or more if that's what people wanted. I was thinking of a easy, low stress swap. Is there anyone else interested in this besides me?

I did another search and found we have done something like this last year:

 Could we do it again?!

Bonus Points: (include which bonus points you think you've earned, e.g., Giver, Engineering, Community, WIP It, Swaptastic, Brain Power, EPIC!)
Project Name: Star Wars Lip Balm
Project Link: (if available)
Brief Description: This is obviously Star Wars. LOL! I taught a group of ladies how to make these at work so we can give them out tomorrow for May the Fourth. I found the images, sized and printed them, and cut them all out. I also removed the labels off the lip balm tubes. I taught the ladies how to roll the new image on. We had a lot of fun. In total we made 52 to give out. There are a lot more images than shown.  Wink

Project Name: Star Wars Chocolates
Project Link: (if available)
Brief Description: These should be instantly recognizable as Star Wars. I started out making these as a treat I was going to leave in our cantina for STar Wars Day (May the 4th). It ended up getting turned into a company wide event and now I have to make so much more! I wish I had double the molds! I am going to be tight for time getting this done. Here is what I have so far. I keep breaking off R2's leg and there are black Vaders under the X-wings but they just took up too much chocolate to make a bunch. This will be Team Wordy's Hunt for something that is consumed. Oh, the green ones have raspberry flavoring and the whites have orange flavorings added too.

Project Name: Girl In Hat
Project Link: (if available)
Brief Description: I have so many favorite parts to Craftster. One is the Games, another is swapping. My favorite swap I think would have to be the ATC Swap. I have participated in many of them over the years and they have such a great community over there too. The always inspire me to do better. Also, I love Team WORDY!!!! I love all my teammates and have a lot of fun over here. So I am going with Team Award here. I am not that fond of this ATC though. I may go back and tinker with it some more but I haven't rendered in a long time and one of my markers bled all over her face near the end and I had a time fixing it.
EDIT: I updated her a little with some glitter in the background and in her eyes. You can't really see it in her eyes in the pic but  it's there.
This will also be my HUNT item for Something with Glitter!

27  Octopurse in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by gozer on: April 05, 2018 01:59:16 PM
This is my favorite pattern. I love the way it fits on my arm and that it fits my Kindle perfectly. This is the third purse I have made myself from this pattern (Notting Hill Handbag) and I highly recommend it!
I saw this fabric and HAD to have it. It featured both an octopus and stars. Two things I love. Pretty sure I bought the stars in every color it came in.  Cheesy  Sorry the purse looks a little rumpled. I carried it a while before taking pics and my stuff was still inside of it.  Tongue

Three Quarters

and of course my most dedicated helper, Egon.
My friend saw this and decided she liked the style so I am making her one out of different fabrics next. I love how versatile this pattern is. It can take on so many different looks.

 Thanks for checking it out!

28  Horror Movie Poster Bettie Bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by gozer on: April 05, 2018 01:46:31 PM
It's been so long since I have posted here. I have been bitten by the bag making bug lately. I have a bunch more planned. Hopefully life will let me make them and not have me stuck doing boring things like cleaning my house.  Tongue
I had to try to this purse because it had such a unique shape. I went to the store and bought fabric before I read over the instructions and realized the front and back are one continuous piece. I was determined to make it that day without another trip to the store. I found this Horror Movie Poster fabric in my stash and it was non-directional so I used it. I think it turned out well. I liked the brightness of it.

 Front and Back.

Inside was neat because it had a zipper to secure your items plus the magnetic snap to hold it's shape.

I have to say I had a time getting the lining and the zipper and the exterior of the bag sewn up. I could not figure it out from the instructions so I ended up putting them aside and figuring it out myself. In the end, the way I had it pinned looked nothing like their picture. I still have no idea how they did it. Also, the pattern didn't call for much interfacing. The interior fabric isn't interfaced at all. I like a sturdier bag with lots of interfacing so it will last longer and maintain its shape. If I had to do this bag over again I would SF101 both the interior and exterior fabrics of the bag.
Here is a bonus shot of my two lovely hlepers, Yeti Pegleg and Egon.  Grin

Project Name: Dog Print Unpaper Towels
Project Link: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=454518.0
Brief Description: This project didnt have a pattern. I had to measure the fabric out. I wanted them the size of a regular paper towel so I had to take into account seams allowance as well. These are unpaper towels along with smaller reusable scrubbies. They will be available in the Fall STS.

Project Name: Green Crystal Necklaces
Project Link: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=454517.0
Brief Description: I think these necklaces have a fantasy type look with the crystals. I made them in a separate batch than the pink since I was using alcohol inks to color the crystals.

Project Name: Horror Movie Poster Purse (AKA Scary Carry)
Project Link: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=454717.0
Brief Description: Show me a bigger trope than the girl screaming and running in a horror movie. LOL! That is pictured here on the movie poster. You can see it in the blue poster. Also, you can see a girl screaming while in a silly pose on the open pic in pink too. So cheesy! Ha! I made this purse because the shaped looked interesting but it wasnt really my type of purse when it was done. I prefer a sturdier one. I know people love hobo type bags but I just cant do them. So this will be offered up in the Fall STS. Also, this will be Team Wordys Hunt for something that Rhymes.

Project Name: Cacti & Alligator
Project Link: (if available)
Brief Description: I kill every plant that comes near me. Unfortunately for them I bought a house with a huge Japanese garden. The only plant I have managed to keep alive is my cacti and it looked like it was headed south so I repotted him. This is my first time ever repotting one. I hope I did it right. I used cactus soil and everything. This will be the Hunt for something sticky. Also, I added some funny stepping stones around my front entry. I did it right (hopefully) with the two step leveling sands. My front yard has too much shade for grass so this guy should stay visible.

Roler Is your little piggy a magnet? No matter what, he is a cutie.

Storerboughtcreations How big is the coffee sign? I love the design. It took me a second to realize it said coffee. Ha! The STOP sign as a door hanger is the ultimate anti-welcome sign. Hilarious! Ollie is so cute. I want to kiss his face and snuggle him. He is so beautiful! Love those long whiskers. The desert sunsets are beautiful. Im having a hard time picking my favorite. Its between the top right corner and the 1st one on the second row (right below your favorite). They are all fantastic though.

And for my Pi Day mini challenge, here I am eating a pie. I am so happy that I have hair now that I don't even care how dorky I look. LOL! I was trying to diet since I gain a bunch of weight on chemo but I took one for the team and ate the pie.  Tongue

For the Stephen Hawking challenge can I post up about my favorite element? It does say etc.  Wink  My favorite element is Element 115, Moscovium or Mc. Robert Lazar, who allegedly worked at Area 51, knew of it's properties and said it was used to fuel spaceships ten years before it was even known to exist. It also has a lot of lore in Science Fiction.
