11  Mirabelle Coneflower Cross Body Bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by gozer on: September 24, 2018 08:51:07 AM
Hello! I got the new pattern for my Bag of the Month club https://carriedawaypatterns.com/ on the 15th and was able to sew it this weekend. The pattern is called the Coneflower Cross Body Bag. I knew exactly what fabric I was going to use as soon as I saw the pattern. When I joined up I promised myself I would only use my stash fabrics for the focus fabrics. I’m trying to use this as a stash busting experiment. I did buy the cork to go with it. I have seen so many people using the cork fabric that I just had to try it and I knew it would look good with the Mirabelle fabric. I am really happy with how it turned out. I think it’s one of my favorite bags that I have made. I already have a couple more planned. One for me (this one is going to my bestie, Bunny1kenobi) and one for my Mom for Christmas.
The pattern shows the back as the front, but to me this is the back.

And this would be the front.

It has a zippered pocket on the back (what I consider the back) and two slip pockets plus another zippered pocket inside. It also has another pocket under the flap.

The sides have a nice accent of the cork. I was so nervous to sew with it but it was really quite easy. WAY easier than vinyl. You don't even need a walking foot.

Thanks for checking it out. I was so happy with how it turned out!

Brief Description: I joined a pattern of the month club (https://carriedawaypatterns.com) and this was Septembers bag. Its only the second pattern and I am so happy I joined. I am loving the patterns and it has been a great motivation. This was my first time sewing with cork. Apparently it's all the rage right now. I thought I would have to use a walking foot but you don't. Much easier than vinyl. I showed this bag to my Bestie, Bunny1Kenobi, and she claimed it as her Christmas present.  Grin I already have a couple more planned. One for me and one for my Mom.

Brief Description: I wish I had decided to make this earlier so I could have used another prompt but I will work it into this one.  Tongue When I was little I would sleep in my clothes and drive my mother crazy. Now that I am older I wear proper PJs. I made these and only realized I had the fabric upside down after I took the picture. LOL! No matter. They are for me and I don't mind. I made them way too big and I may go back and cut down the waist band so they don't sag down so long, or I will just make those adjustments on the next pair I make. I am always freezing in the winter and decided to up my warm pj pants collection early this year. Oh, and I added the cell phone pocket. Gotta have those nowadays.  Wink

Project Name: Extra Large Star Bowl Cozy
Project Link: (if available)
Brief Description: If you have never used a bowl cozy I highly recommend it. These things are amazing. They keep you from burning your fingers on hot bowls in the Winter and we all know that cold weather is just around the corner. My friend asked me for a larger bowl cozy since she uses these really big bowls and the last ones didn't really fit them very well. We both love stars so I used some of the amazing fabric I got from Redheadwithtread to make this one. This was made to celebrate my Friendship with her.

Project Name: Cat Bowl Cozies
Project Link: (if available)
Brief Description: I am always thinking about Christmas. Recently a friend of mine from High School that I had lost touch with started working at the same company as me. She doesn't celebrate Christmas but I know I will want to give her something so I made her some bowl cozies while I was at it. These were also made in friendship but they have cats on them and Kiki's Delivery Service has a cat in it (at least I think it does).

Project Name: Bacon Bowl Cozy
Project Link: (if available)
Brief Description: Another bowl cozy. This is for my long time friend at work. He's a guy and we don't normally exchange gifts at the holidays but if I give the other friend one I would feel bad to not give this one a gift too. Besides, once you use the bowl cozies you realize the are amazing and everyone should have one. Wink  This is Princess Mononoke because I struggle with the winter and the cold but these bowl cozies make it a little better.

Project Name: Carried Away Sierra Cat Bag
Project Link: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=455742.0
Brief Description: I joined a Bag of the Month Club (details in the link above) and this was the first bag. I was determined to finish it in one day and it took ALL day. THE ENTIRE DAY! I am the worlds slowest sewer but I managed to complete it. I was really happy when I realized I was able to do the entire bag out of my stash too! I've had this cat fabric for a while, just waiting for the perfect purse or craft sewing project. I was happy with the results.  Grin  This is my attempt at making a "cool" cat themed purse.

19  Carried Away Sierra Cat Bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by gozer on: August 20, 2018 08:54:18 AM
Lately I have not been sewing or crafting. My co-worker quit and my duties at work changed and I have just been drained when I get home. To try to encourage myself to be more productive and to sew again I joined a Bag of the Month Club! It was fate that two of my favorite pattern makers, Swoon & Blue Calla, decided to do a collaboration and offer it up right now. It’s for 6 months. It just started and patterns are released on the 15th.
In case anyone else wants to join its called Carried Away Pattern Collective and here is the link.
https://carriedawaypatterns.com/products/the-everyday-bag-collection
I got the first pattern and was so excited that I had everything on hand. Yep, complete stash busting project for me! I love when that happens. I have had this awesome paint splattered cat fabric for a while just waiting for the perfect project. I think it turned out really neat looking.
It has a nice big 9” zippered pocket inside and a convenient slip pocket on the outside. It’s very roomy inside. Way bigger than my last purse but I am getting used to it. I still need to make the shoulder strap but I am debating if I will use it or now. It measurement 13" long, 10" tall, 6" deep.
The pattern seemed overwhelming at first since I haven't really pushed myself lately but it was very well written and easy to understand. If you are using vinyl make sure you have that walking foot!

Thanks for checking it out! I'm trying to make Crazy Cat Lady a little cooler. LOL! Hopefully I can keep up the momentum and do all 6 months of purses (not all cats though).  Tongue

Project Name: Boyz 4 Now - Boo Boo & Louise Notebook
Project Link: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=455361.0
Brief Description: If you have seen the episode 'Boys 4 Now' of Bob's Burgers then you know this is the episode that Louise gets her first crush on Boo Boo from the boy band Boyz 4 Now. She has high hopes to meet him just so she can slap his hideously beautiful face out of her mind. I am a huge Louise fan and I am pretty sure she would love this notebook, but secretly because she isn't into a lame boy band.
Project Picture:

and Louise on the back, freaking out.  Cheesy

Better pic of the cover on the community post. This is my Level Up #3 for Wordy! YES!!!!!! You can't see me but I am doing the same pose Louise has right now.  Wink
