Due to unforeseen health issues I will not be able to participate in the STS this year. I made this fold-over wristlet purse for that swap but since I won't be joining I decided to add it to the pile of Raffle Prizes this round.  Wink  Hopefully it will find a good home.

2  Re: Necklace Swap 2017 GALLERY (Sendouts Aug. 14) in The Swap Gallery by gozer on: August 18, 2017 12:26:06 PM
I received both of my necklaces and they are fantastic!
First one that came in was from Patty_o_furniture. We had chatted a little and I talked about cats with her. My Mom just got a cat and named her Patty.  Cheesy  She sent me this beautifully beaded necklace. Its absolutely amazing with all the tiny beads! it was really long and had a cool bead at the end which I included in my shot.

Then I received from the wonderful Whatthepuck. We also chatted a bit but I don't think I mentioned how much I love stars. This is absolutely beautiful. I love the color of the teal bead too. So very pretty. Love it so much! It's absolutely perfect for me.

Prompt: August - 1 - Mermaid Tears
Team: Maker
Bonus Points: -0-
Project Name: Gozer Salt Dough Necklace
Project Link: (if available)
Brief Description: At the beginning of the month I got terrible news about my beloved Gozer. He has been in kidney failure for three years now and it got worse. He is on new meds now and fluids. I decided to make a salt dough impression of his paw and then I put it inside a necklace pendant. Gozer being sick is sad and all my tears and the dough are salty.

Prompt: August -4- Giant Eagle
Team: Maker
Bonus Points: -0-
Project Name: Salt Dough Ornaments
Project Link: (if available)
Brief Description: As if my post couldn't be more depressing, my moms cat was put to sleep on Monday. His name was Spooky and he was 20 years old. I went over to spend some time with him and did a salt dough impression of his paw too. His is the one to the left. The other two are Gozers. The really small on is where I tried to press it on his foot, the better one is where I had him stand on it. That worked better.

Prompt: UFO
Team: Maker
Bonus Points:  WIP It
Project Name: More Christmas bags
Project Link: (if available)
Brief Description: I have had these done minus the draw strings forever. I added some draw strings the other day. Sorry about the super busy background.

And with these, I should have crafted all the prompts!!!!!! Grin Grin Grin

Prompt: August - Battle - Wizard
Team: Maker
Bonus Points: -0-
Project Name: Lucky Penny Necklace
Project Link: (if available)
Brief Description: We all know that wizards use medallions. I decided to make a Lucky Penny one since I could use a little luck on my side at the moment.  Wink
Project Picture:

Prompt: August - 5 - Perfect grain of sand
Team: maker
Bonus Points:  Swaptastic, Brain Power
Project Name: Shark Necklace
Project Link: (if available)
Brief Description: I had to do a lot of brainstorming for this one. I was hoping that if I etched the different layers of glass that once I glued them together that the etchings would show. I couldn't get that to happen with the glue I was using. I may try it again later on with different supplies. But sharks live at the beach and that's how this fits the prompt.

8  Two Attempts at Carl. Two Fails. in Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) by gozer on: August 04, 2017 07:58:31 AM

Have you ever had that moment when you are drawing or crafting along and then all of a sudden think all your talent is gone? It's like when you are following a pattern and then all of a sudden you have NO idea what they just did (I sew a lot and this happens to me all the time). Well, Carl did that to me with ATCs. I decided to render him in Copic Markers like I normally do and for some reason everything was going wrong with it.
I decided to put that aside and work it out in pencil. Still it was wrong but in another way.  Tongue  In the end I sent both cards and let it up to the person I claimed to decide which to keep. The left is the Copic, right is pencil. The top picture is before I cut them down to ATC size.

I will attempt him again when I think I can handle the disappointment.  Tongue

9  July ATCs for the Swap + a remake in Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) by gozer on: August 04, 2017 07:41:00 AM

These are the cards I did for the July Swap. I did more cards in June but looking back, I wasn't very pleased with them so I decided to claim less and work harder.  Wink
Here is what my efforts came up with.
My first attempt was this guy. He is inspired by Ronan from the Raven Boys but I know Ronan has less hair. I wasn't exactly sure how to do that. I am not very good at drawing guys so I decided to work on that more.

Then I did Luke Skywalker from Star Wars. I know everyone's favorite was/is Han but as a kid I was all about Luke. This was my first time adding color pencil on top of the Copic Markers to add detail and I really enjoyed the effects. I went back and added it to the card above with less than stellar results. I am still learning.  Embarrassed

I was house sitting for my parents while I was working on this and got some help from her kitten Ernie.  Kiss

Next up is my little lady Yeti Pegleg. She has an injured eye from her kittenhood before I adopted her. She is also missing a back foot. She is quite the scrapper though and nothing slows this pirate down!

I decided to go for something even more challenging and tried to attempt water. I had a bit of a time figuring out how to do the sand and not have it blend in with the flesh and then it hit me, stipple it! I really liked the outcome. Then I put a layer of pale, pale blue over everything that would be underwater and added the white gel pen. I was pleased with the feel of this card.

Lastly, one was lost in the mail. I whipped up this replacement and think it's better than the first. The theme was girl with Antlers. Actually, the first one is the lost card and the second one is the remake just for comparisons. The second one looks like Tyra Banks to me. LOL!

Prompt:  August - 2 - Krakens Tentacles
Team: Maker
Bonus Points: Swaptastic
Project Name: Necklace Swap #1
Project Link: (if available)
Brief Description: I made this for the Necklace Swap and it ended up being shaped like a squid! LOL! It was fate.  Wink  I'm posting it early cas my life is kind of crazy and I don't know how much more hectic it's going to get.

Prompt:  August - 3 - Sea Serpents Scales
Team: Maker
Bonus Points: Swaptastic
Project Name: Antler Girl
Project Link: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=452891.0
Brief Description: The first antler girl card I made went missing so I had to remake it and I remade it into this. I like this one better. She looks like Tyra Banks to me. Her eyes have Spica ink on them so they shimmer and for her necklaces I used metallic pens. The second pic is fuzzy and the color is wonky but it shows the shimmer better.
