21  Re: T4-Tea Towels Go International in The Swap Gallery by BrookOwens on: September 15, 2008 04:25:35 AM
Here is what I stitched on ginamonsters towel. she sent me a blank towel and pretty much NO GUIDELINES!!! AAAHH.... which was ok because instead I just stalked her blog and craftster to find something. At first I was going to stitch some roller skates since I saw she was in Derby... but the skates were not like the ones they use in RollerDerby... then I read on her info she liked cowgirl/ cowboy stuff and I thought of the sublime stitching cowgirl... and how I have been dying to stitch her up for A LONG TIME! so here she is... the pic makes her face looks weird but it doesn't in real life... I HOPE!

I am not sure its 40's vintage but that is what it looks like.... anyways.... So I am sssooo happy when I found out amyracinrose was my swap partner for the Vintage Apron Swap! Super excited because I always LOVE everything she makes !! So when I went looking for stuff to make her I found the PERFECT pattern on flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/claudiamarchan/2654938592/ (Claudia Marchan gave the pattern!) Thank you!! I blew it up to the size I wanted, I used back stitch, split stitch, satin stitch, and a few french knots! I also stitched it with the batting attached and then got this "special" batting that is for potholders and oven mitts that has foil insulation in it. anyways hope you guys like because I am in love with it and amyracinrose said she loves it too!!! YAY!

I finally got a sulky transfer pen and i am IN LOVE!

Chicken Cordon Bleu
4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
6 slices Swiss cheese
4 slices cooked ham
1/2 cup seasoned bread crumbs

Cooking Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Coat a 7x11 inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
2. Pound chicken breasts to 1/4 inch thickness.
3.Sprinkle each piece of chicken on both sides with salt and pepper. Place 1 cheese slice and 1 ham slice on top of each breast. Roll up each breast, and secure with a toothpick. Place in baking dish, and sprinkle chicken evenly with bread crumbs.
4.Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until chicken is no longer pink. Remove from oven, and place 1/2 cheese slice on top of each breast. Return to oven for 3 to 5 minutes, or until cheese has melted. Remove toothpicks, and serve immediately.

1 egg
1/2 egg shell of milk (mix together)
1 cup flour
3 cans campbells cream of chicken soup
3 cans swansons chicken broth

In a bowl add 1 egg and 1/2 egg shell of milk, mix together, slowly add 1 cup flour. add more flour if too sticky. On a floured serface, Roll out super thin and cut noodles VERY thin (once cooked they triple in size)

Add broth and let cook on medium untill noodles are fully cooked

1 cup white sugar
3 eggs
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1 (12 fluid ounce) can evaporated milk
1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
In a medium saucepan over medium-low heat, melt sugar until liquefied and golden in color. Carefully pour hot syrup into a 9 inch round glass baking dish, turning the dish to evenly coat the bottom and sides. Set aside.
In a large bowl, beat eggs. Beat in condensed milk, evaporated milk and vanilla until smooth. Pour egg mixture into baking dish. Cover with aluminum foil. make sure to cook in a water bath
Bake in preheated oven 60 minutes. Let cool completely.

I made these in spirit of the election coming up. My stitching sort of is wonky in these and I really don't know why I was having trouble with the onesie fabric and then the stabilizer... it was making me SO MAD... but with that said... here they are.
