Almost done! All that's needed is the gold outline thread. There are 2 dark blue threads, 1 cerulean blue thread, and 3 green/teal threads on the outside of the stars.

And because I know you all wanna see this:

My furry little craft helper! He steals anything not tacked down when you aren't looking.  Tongue I love him though. <3 hehehe Grin

I too am intrigued by the temari.  Where would you suggest going to learn how to make them, Tsuki_Tsubasa?

I learned from a couple of places. First is this site right here: http://www.temarikai.com That site has a ton of nice patterns and oodles of info. <3 The next are some books that I learned from. <3 They were Temari: How to make Japanese thread balls, Temari Adventures: Fun & Easy Japanese thread and quilt balls, Temari Traditions: More techniques for Japanese thread balls; all are by Diana Vandervoort. Another good one is The Craft of Temari by Mary Wood. Grin Lots of great books. hehehe

Here are a couple more WIP pics! I was able to get a little done on it this weekend.~

2 threads of darker blue and the 3rd thread is a lighter cerulean blue. <3 The next colours will be green/tealish. Grin

What a totally awesome bag! I love all the little pockets on it and the print is soooo pretty.

I've got WIP pics of my temari. I started with a 3 inch foam core and wrapped that in a layer of what yarn. On top of the yarn goes 300 yards of whatever color thread you want for the base(mari). In this case I chose red. I then layed out the C-8 division in gold metalic thread over the red base.

Enjoy. <3 Grin

14  Re: i heart manatees swap gallery! in The Swap Gallery by Tsuki_Tsubasa on: May 28, 2008 11:44:40 PM
Posting pics of what I sent to Avi.~ Grin

I made a 24" long necklace and an 8" bracelet to go with it. I made the manatee's out of sculpy and painted them. It was the first time I've done anything with clay so I was -really- pleased with how they came out. <3 Grin I bought some shell charms to put with them. I think they were aboloney? However that's spelled... >_>; Hope they fit ok Avi! ^^

Next I made 2 flannel manatee's in Avi's fav colors. I was gonna give them eyes but thought they looked cuter without them. I found the pattern for them here on Craftster so thank you to whoever made it! It totally rocks. <3 ^__^

And last but not least I made her a manatee pic. I took a pic that I totally love and printed it out for her and then made a matte for it and put little metalic hearts on the corners. For a hanging thing I used the tab from a can of coke and taped it to the back.

Well enjoy. <3 Grin

Aww! That is cute quilted. X3 How old is he? If you don't mind me asking. ^^

Pic time! I'll help mom upload the pics of her finished blocks later. <3

Quilted's finished block:

I was really pleased with the finished 3-D effect of it. <3's~

BertaBerta's finished block:

As soon as I saw the blue fabric it made me think of birds for some reason and I knew I had to put a bird on there somewhere. It came out look like a duck somewhat though. lol At least it's in the bird family though right? XD

Now for mine:

Looks crooked in the pic but not in person. lol I was -really- pleased with how it came out. <3's~ I keep petting the velvet. XD It's so soft and silky. lol I'm using the same pattern for moms block and will probably get hers done later in the week. Tomorrows house cleaning time so I don't know if I will have time to work on it tomorrow or not.

It was slow on the kids side of the library tonight so me and my co-worker learned to make some pipe cleaner lizards for the bug themed summer reading program. Here they are. He insisted that his only have one eye so his is the cyclops one.  Roll Eyes lol Well enjoy.  Tongue

And now for the Discovery Channel themed one! Here we have captured the elusive pipe cleaner chameleons in a rare intimate moment!

Here are the blocks I have made so far! Grin I'll take pics of moms finished blocks later this week.

The next 2 pics are of WIP's. All I have done on them is picked the pattern out and cut the pieces. They haven't been sewn together yet.

This next one is going to be the Attic Windows pattern. (I think that's what it was called...)

I don't have any pics of the blocks I'm making for myself and mom yet. I'm using the same pattern as I used for Kiden though. The lantern one. Grin Well I hope everyone likes the blocks I made for them! Any comment or critique is welcome. Just be gentle though as I haven't done anything quilt related since 5th grade. XD Thanks! <3's~

Btw: Quick question for everyone! lol How many of you use machines and how many hand sew? I hand sew everything because I'm unabe to make machines work for me. lol I always mess up on them. I was just curious how many quilters hand sew versus how many machine sew. Thanks! lol ^^v

18  Re: Gnome Swap Round 2 GALLERY!!! in The Swap Gallery by Tsuki_Tsubasa on: March 31, 2008 09:00:46 PM
Some complications from getting my wisdom teeth cut out have killed my schedule. I'm gonna be a few days late sending.... T___T I've already pmed the right peoples though.

Look what the mail man brought me though to cheer me up! A totally fabulous package from lady4feet! This cheered me up so much and totally made me smile. <3 As you all know me and my mom split the package. She made half and I made half and in return lady4feet split what she was sending into 2 things. One set for me and one for mom. There are no pics of my holding my things because my face right now is really swollen. I look like a hampster with it's cheeks full of food. lol  Tongue

Here's what she made me first! Grin I had asked for a gnome plushie because I thought it would be sooo cute to have. She said it took her a few trys but look at the uber cuteness that she made for me. <3's~ It even has it's own mushroom home! ^_________^ And tucked inside with the little dear was the most cutest magnent ever! I totally love it. ^o^/

Now here is what she sent for mom! A super cute polymar clay gnome necklace that she said was the first time that she made something with it and it came out right. It sure did! Mom totally fell in love with it as soon as she saw it. <3's~ Grin She also made her a super cute gnome tote with a felt gnome blanket stitched onto it. Her stitches are sooo tiny and perfect!! We thought at first they were machine done they were so small. How did you get them so small and perfect? Whenever we try to blanket stitch it comes out all wonky and weird. >__>; I tried to get a close up of the stitches and the clay gnome but they kept coming out blurry. T__T;

And now mom modeling her new stuffs! Grin

Mom says: I totally love my tote bag! (I'm a tote bag freak, and this will be my most favorite tote bag now.) I really really love the necklace too. I'm wearing it right now in my pajamas. lol Thanks for everything! Grin

19  Re: octopus/squid gallery in The Swap Gallery by Tsuki_Tsubasa on: March 31, 2008 08:32:10 PM
Finally got pics! Grin First I'll post what I sent AbsurdAnnekuh.

Apron that was on her Wist. This is just a wip though. After this was taken I added blue sparkle paint over the black and put some blue dots all around the Octopus to make it look like it had bubbles around it.

The next pic has the Octopus pillow I made and a wip crocheted amigurumi octo in her fav fall colors. The reason the crocheted octo is wip is because this was because I added eyes and a mouth.

Now for what she sent me! Grin Here's the group shot of it all.~ What looks like blank cards with red ribbon around them are the ones that are like punched tin. They say "I <3 You".

Thanks again Anne! I love everything. Grin <3's~

20  Library Spring themed Bulletin board in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by Tsuki_Tsubasa on: March 19, 2008 07:20:45 PM
I hope I'm putting this in the right place. lol If not mods feel free to move it. <3

I was asked by the Children's Director if I wanted to do the Spring themed bulliton board at the library where I work. I was thrilled to do it! I love things like this and lately I'm the only one that seems to want to do it. Works for me though. lol Here's the one I started a couple days ago and finished today. I went for simplicity this time. The last few I have done I've been experimenting with putting 3-D things on them. (I'll see if I can find some pics of the 3-D ones if anyone is interested.) For this I drew all the animals in the Precious Moments style and laminated them. (which is why the pics have glare spots in them >_<; ) Along the bottom are flowers with different spring-ish books in the center of them. The grass is choppy looking in person but in the pics you can't see it very well. On to the pics!

First a shot of the whole thing:

Next a close up of the bunny and turtle:

A close up of the dog and kitty:

And last but not least the little lamb and her bird friends:

So what do you think?  Grin I'm really pleased with how it turned out. <3's~ Any comments or critiques are welcomed. Might give me some ideas for future boards. Thanks! <3's~
