I'm so glad it made the trip!  I was worried the "candles" would get knocked out of the back, or one of the glass jars would shatter and have goo all over the place

It's funny we both went for the necklace idea.  Great minds think alike!

Honestly, I'm surprised it made the trip too! But you did a really good job wrapping it all up. Thank you again. I have to find a special place to display it. Sorry I couldn't get better pics. My camera takes better pictures outside and because of the rain I sorta rushed it. Also, let me just say I love the note you included. When I have more time and I'm at a computer, I will type it up here so everyone can see.

I did a shoot before it left!   Grin

And the Full package:

I received a wonderful package today from Doxie24_7.  It is WONDERFUL!

When the package was opened, I saw glitter on the tissue paper, and I knew it was on!  Doxie said it was a grown-up Harry Potter item in her note, and that, my friends it is.

First, the box was beautiful:

I adore the choice of words.  Very fitting!

And inside was my "grown-up" potions necklace.  I'm a huge fan of things that don't absolutely scream HP, rather pay homage to the world.  Doxie nailed this one on the head!

The potion bottle is the perfect size, there is a gazing ball, a star, a key... it hits so many parts of the world of HP.

Again, THANK YOU!  I LOVE THIS NECKLACE!!!! And the box too!

3  Re: The Awesome Swap Gallery of the "Be Awesome" Swap in The Swap Gallery by technogoddess on: February 25, 2011 04:41:51 PM
Ok.  So I don't think anybody else should send their packages, 'cause mine is hands down the MOST AWESOME item that will be sent or received during this swap!

AmandaBL has the market cornered on awesomeness.  How is this you ask?  Well I shall show you.

To be awesome you need Da de los Muertos-esque drawer pulls.

Um... CHECK!

To be even more awesome you need to paint it black. And add sparkles.  Super bonus points for black glitter.

Again... CHECK!

ok.  I know what you're saying now.  This can't get any better.  But just you wait my friends.

*BAM*  You collage and paint the top.  Hearts, thorns, flowers... Yup, you just got smacked with even more AWESOMENESS.

And as I was saying before, when you put it all together, you get the most awesome package that can ever be made.

AmandaBL, you cannot be awesome, you ARE AWESOME!  Thank you so much for this amazing package.  I knew I picked the right person for the job!  THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!

5  Re: Harry Potter Craft-along 2011 in Craftalongs by technogoddess on: February 19, 2011 01:02:06 PM
So my Grandmother is in the process of cleaning out everything.  She's 90, and has been a crafter her whole life.  So this translates into me hoarding everything that I can from her stash! I found this mustard seed pendant along with a ton of other necklace bits a pieces and knew immediately what had to be made with it.

So I crafted some wings out of shrinky dinks, and voila!  An abstract snitch necklace.

It's a long necklace so it moves around a lot as I move, and the wings make a fun "tinkling" sound as they bounce around.

Sorry about the cell phone picture, I didn't feel like breaking out the big guns today for a photo session.  Wink

purple paisley: can i see a side view pic of your purse please.
so pretty techno goddess!

Here's a picture I shot before sending off, it's the best I had of the side!  Showing that I made the front (and back) a pocket.  So I made the inner bag, and joined it with the outer shell.  Does that make sense?  I think it might...  Wink

I just got my package from Luna Dinkime!  Grin

And I was spoooooooooiled!

What Luna fan isn't complete without some radish earrings?!?  Well I was until now!

And did you know that Luna has created her own society?  It's the Wrackspurt Protection Program or W.P.P.

I can officially show my support for the cause with...  my own hat!

Now onto some chocolate wands, chocolate Hogwarts and chocolate frogs! YUM!

what do you need to send owl posts?  Why Owls of course!  What great notecards!  They even sparkle!

Now what could be contained in this jewel encrusted trunk?

Well, Hallows playing cards and Harry Potter Memory!  TOO FUN!

And along with TONS of my favorite kind of packing material (tootsie roll and pop candies!) This great shirt!

So what happens when you say the spell?  The lights go out and:

Thank you so much Dinkime!  This package was a great pick-me-up for the gloomy weather here in VA today!

What a lovely package!  Not to mention a great way to start the gallery.  Huzzah for technogoddess!

*Blush*  Thanks everyone!  I'm glad you all liked it.  I was a bit nervous for my first swap.  But it was more fun than I can have ever have imagined it would be!  And that's without receiving, I can't wait!

Oh, and Ron wanted to do a photo shoot before leaving, so I had to go along with it!

And a shot of the book!
