2  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Help With Pattern on: November 13, 2009 07:48:31 AM

I have been making this Spidery Tank: http://www.interweaveknits.com/galleries/bonus/summer-2009/Spidery-Tank.asp since the summer and have finally got to the shaping of the top. This is my first time knitting a garment ( I just taught myself how to knit last winter with a scarf) and ran into a little hiccup.

I have finished the right front strap and put the rem.  stiches on a stitch holder as the pattern says. Then it says to start the left front strap. Okay, but my yarn is still attached to the very top of the right strap.

Do I fasten off, leave a long peice, or grab a new skein of yarn and leave the rest of that ball attached?  I have read through the rest of the pattern and it doesn't say. What is the best way to proceed?

Your wedding looked beautiful, I loved everything. Where did get the picket fences from?

That's really cute, my mom loves snowmen. I'm looking forward to seeing pics of it as you work on it.

I had the same problem, you have to make sure you are counting the 'smooshed stitches' .

Hi there!

I'm a crochet'er and I would really like to learn how to knit. Before I pick up the long and pointy needles, I was wondering what sort of patterns/items are the best to learn with? Any suggestions are appreciated, the last thing I want to do is start a project that I won't be able to make sense of and abandon it.  Smiley
