1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / My ball dress and I are no longer friends...aka i hated it on: February 11, 2008 10:03:25 PM
Well I made this for my school ball out of a pattern i just made in my head, but I originally had a nice long white skirt that had a train down the back and was just really nice, until on the day before the ball i hated it!! I know what's wrong with me and all of a sudden the skirt was not to be and I sewed two layers of lace onto the bottom as the skirt, and that was that and I spent the entire night regretting it and wishing i'd bought a dress.. anyway here are two pics, the second one sucks sorry but the other ones i look like a mega dawk because i'm trying to shrink to be my friends height because i love heels and they do not, and i'm just super lanky!!!

i'm the white and black with cool hair haha

I'd love any advice at all!!!
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Plain black tee to ---> fabric painting! on: December 22, 2007 11:34:12 PM
Well my boss asked me what we could do for our big boss this xmas as he's always fairly generous to us at xmas time... originally she wanted me to sew him a t-shirt but i shut that idea down because we couldn't think of anything original for him.... so i was going to stencil a one liner on to a bought t-shirt but... me ad my co-worker got slightly carried away and made this - she helped with the design...

it's the guns and roses logo minus the guns and just one rose since we figured he was fairly rocky

close up of the "bleeding" rose hehe we really liked that!!

It's my first time ever painting a t-shirt and i haven't painted since i was at school... so what do you think? Does it look too tacky and home-made??

4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Skinny Jeans... Finaly found a pattern!! on: December 11, 2007 01:12:56 AM
I remember a while ago people looking for skinny jeans or cigarette pants. And so was I and today stumbled across burdastyles latest FREE pattern.

the pattern is here http://www.burdastyle.com/creations/show/1656 they have more pics there...

Just one thing if you don't mind. I've never sewn Jean fabric before but heard it can be fairly strenuous and tough on the old machine.. i have a brother that I just bought this year do you think it will be able to withstand it or do you think i should stick to stretchy cotton instead??

Thanks a bunch I hope you all get to try this pattern it looks like great fun and I'm sure a great sense of success will accompany its completion!!
5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / I SHOULD BE STUDYING BUT... on: October 09, 2007 02:55:02 AM
Keep getting distracted by awesome clothes I'm procrastonating about making for summer and after exams (!!!), any tips for this topshop dress??

I'm going to make it in two parts, the top just as a normal tank with the canvas straps attatched and then the skirt just a pleated flat piece of material... what you think??
6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Super easy cardi!! on: October 08, 2007 10:32:10 PM
Hey everyone. This is my very first post on craftster as i have only just been enlightened into the wonderful world that is... craftster!

I bought (second hand) a kiddies pattern for a cardi because u couldn't find any adult ones in the style I wanted and came across this one so it seemed like fate... so I made it longer and shortened the sleeves and fits pretty well i think...but I was only using this jersey knit that i also picked up at a second hand store and had no coral thread and thought since it was just a "trial" i'd go with a nice contrast black hehe. So all up this puppy cost about $7NZ and prob less then US$5 and only like two pounds... anyways here it is i think!!

let me know what you think!!
And i reckon i could probably make a tute for this if u guys want!
