1  Roy's Gown [my year 12 assignment] in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by ikathryn on: November 06, 2007 04:45:13 PM
This dress was made as part of my year 12 textiles class. It's two seperate parts [unfortunately i didn't get any good shots of just the dress] The dress was a vogue pattern and the top was a mcalls i think. It's all been handed in with the rest of my work and is already/inthe process of being marked. Any comments and criticisms welcome. [the two pictures that are quiet obviously set up were part of the assignment... we had to create an advertising campaign and some of the best shots of the dress were from there]

blurry i know but it was the best shot i've got of the back drapes.

once again my lovely friend erin is modelling.

2  is it a bird? a plane? no! its the superman dress! [img chubby] in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by ikathryn on: October 06, 2007 11:49:38 PM
Within my group of friends its pretty well known that I like to sew and will often make/recon my own things because i can't find what i want in the stores. So alot of the times I find myself being asked to sew things for people. Usually its pretty simple things like tutus and bags for parties and such and i don't mind. I'm guessing there's alot of you craftsters who have the same experience?

anyhoo... a friend of mine loves superman. But she didn't want just the normal tshirt that everyone has. So I said i'd make her something if we found the right material. So a trip on trip to savers later the superman dress was born.

so we started our with a boys small dressing gown and matching pyjama bottoms and a pencil skirt that was just a little too big

the construction process... which was hit and miss basically. Taking a stab in the dark and hoping it worked.

this is the front. [ignore the purple bra straps, we only thought for her to take it off afterwards]

the back...

and pocket detail.

comments and criticisms welcome also any questions. what do you think?
