1  Re: Positive Affirmations swap round 2 GALLERY in The Swap Gallery by Lmcbride on: March 20, 2019 10:37:47 PM
I have really enjoyed this swap and everything in the gallery is so sweet.    I feel so positively affirmed right now.   Smiley Smiley  Today I had a rough day and came home to find this totally amazing gift.  I love it so much, thank you  Thanate

It's colorful and soft and cuddly and has a hanging loop and streamers and beautiful embroidery such as a butterfly queen, little creatures, a purple tree stump, and I just love, love, LOVE "Whatever you are, be a good one"!!

Oh and regarding the atc swap craftylittlemonkey I would love to participate.  I will check it out.  Smiley

Hello Craftsters!  I have received the most positive and affirmative gift from BigBangMomma.   Smiley
Her gift comes in the form of a little storybook that follows a baby growing to a little girl and then to an adult, and she reclaims her natural childhood belief in herself.  This is a very touching metaphor and particularly relevent to me.  I deeply appreciate this gift - it's a good reminder to practice being in that childhood self of feeling strength and wonder and possibility and playfulness.  Thank you, thank you, thank you BigBangMomma.  <3 Also, I apologize for sideways photos.    Roll Eyes  Couple more swaps and I'll have it all figgered out haha.

Wow, I just got caught up on the gallery from way back at the crafty gurll bobby pins!  Every single thing is wonderful!  What a fun swap this has been.

Here are the incredible little goodies I got from the super talented Wendellina!  Diminutive in size, but NOT in magnificence!

Everything was packed in this wicked cool cigar box - the box is like a whole present in itself!
Resin pendants and bottle-cap thumbtacks, and some beaded felt squares on a necklace and some extras for charms:

close-up on the pendants:

those rainbow tacks are made from beads in resin, right off my wists!

And a second rainbow of beaded, felted jewels:

Wendellina is the best swap partner ever, period.   Smiley

Thanks, Wendellina.  And thanks to crafty gurll for organizing, she's pretty great too, right? Smiley

Here is Miss Purple Cake, safely returned home from her summer visit to Singmomma, and all of her loot she brought back with her:

Lots of little souvenirs from Canada (soap, washcloth, candy! Smiley), some great pictures, a chunky-book style album, and a little purple suitcase with some new clothes and jewelry in it!  She just loves jewelry!  And there's even a beaded bracelet for me - I love jewelry too!

And here she is surveying her new goodies, and wearing her new tutu. Cheesy

Thank you so much, Slingmomma!  We love it all, and thanks for being such a wonderful swap partner. Smiley

Edit: AND there was some maple syrup in there too, which pretty much got kidnapped and run away with before I even got to take the pictures!  We live in Vermont and you'd think my family was starved for maple syrup, jeezum crow! Roll Eyes

That is one sweet sheep!

And here is what I have received from the insanely generous and talented Wendellina!

First, all the loot:  Just look at all those extras!  coasters, beads, do-dads including fish!, wooden aplique's, sweet card, GLITTER, and my new Day of the Dead plastic bag holder drawstring bag, for my kitchen!

Here is a close up of the plastic bag holder.  That is totally gonna match my kitchen!

And here is my new Uh.MAZE.ing beaded braclet.  It weights down my arm and I totally love it. Cheesy  Love it!!

I love it ALL Wendellina, you simply rock AND roll as a craftster and a swap partner, and I'm off now to get crackalackin' on the next package because I have a tough act to follow here... Smiley

All superfantastic stuff! Cheesy  I want it all!!!

And here is the kit I recieved from the lovely and talented Wendellina:

It's all about embroidery!  Cloths, and hoops, and floss....

and scissors, and needles, and special pens and paper....

and iron-on transfers in the themes of wine and flowers, both of which I absolutely love!

and a chunky book that she made(!) to hold all of this fantastic stuff (or most of it anyway)!  Look at that beautiful L!

and inside it has pockets and felt needle pages, and lots of teensy plastic bags to put the flosses in.  It's gonna be crazy chunky when I fill it all up.  Grin

And for her local color she sent me some fantastic special mustard, which I don't want to photograph because in the few days we've had it, it's been opened and used daily, and the bottle is all, you know, used looking, by people who live like animals and can't keep it wiped off nice. Roll Eyes  And by people I mean my husband of course, and I think he loves it so much he's drinking it or something. Cheesy

Thank you Wendellina, this is the most fantastic kit I could have dreamed of recieving, I hope I can do it justice by making something nice with it.   Smiley

Here is my sweet package from doyouloveanapple  Smiley :

Group shot: little metal box with knitting skeleton lady inside, metal cross, skully magnet, and felted virgin ornament.

Here you can see the decoration on the cross better.

On this one I am attempting to get a good shot of the entire glitter-filled interior walls. Smiley  Super duper shiny!

Thank you so much, partner, I really love it all!  Smiley

Well, as promised here are the frame and album that Jess_aka_jalapeno sent to me.

The album has a flower close-up which I love, and I didn't count but I'm pretty sure she sent more than 24 prints. Smiley

And I just have to show you more of a close up on the frame, into which I put one of my favorites:

first of all, there is glitter in the center of that flower, and also, I don't know if you can see it in a picture of a picture, but the plant in the foreground of that photo just looks like it is jumping off the page at you, sort of 3-d style...  If it's just me who sees it, that's ok I don't mind seeing things that way. Well, it was really hard to chose, but here are a few of my favorite pictures from the package I just received from Jessa_aka_jalapeno.

Some barnacles...

a beachy scene...

Pretty houses and boats.  I love that these are pictures from a place that is so different from where I live.  I really miss the ocean. Smiley

and a beautiful blue hydrangea with a bug on it.  Smiley  those blue flowers are one of my all-time favorites, but they don't grow where I live, too cold.

....aaaaand, I just realized that in my crazy zeal to post these pictures, I totally forgot to take a picture of the sweet frame and album she made for me!  Roll Eyes I'll try to post those tomorrow.

Thanks again, Jessa I love my package. Smiley

10  Re: Mini Art Quilt Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Lmcbride on: June 17, 2009 02:40:24 PM

...and here is what the unbelievably talented quilter shout4Joy made for me!

Look at those butterflies - they are 3-d and actually "float" or flutter if you will, off the quilt.  Ingenious.  And please note the detailed swirly quilting which just blows me totally away.  Their little bodies *are* the stitching which attaches them to the quilt.

It's nothing short of perfect, and I am so happy to have received such an amazing thing.  Thank you again, Joy.   Smiley
