1  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Ode to Benj on: October 05, 2007 12:18:17 PM
This is an ode to my blue Italian Greyhound, Benj.  He can be a weirdo.  I LOVE him, but he's a weirdo.  I sculpted this out of soldate clay.  He actually does lay this way.
2  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Pottery, Ceramics, etc: Completed Projects / Foal Sculpture Disaster on: October 05, 2007 12:13:37 PM
this is the first sculpture I fired in my own kiln.  Something went awry and it cracked in half.  I superglued it, but it will never be the same. Cry  It's a portrait sculpture of my friend's part andalusian foal.  I made him with soldate clay.
3  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Cria Magnet on: October 05, 2007 11:55:03 AM
Crias are what they call baby llamas.  I have a soft spot for the appaloosa llama babies and the way they look behind them this way.  I sculpted this out of white sculpey clay, then painted and coated with acrylic for protection.  I embedded the magnet into the clay in the back and superglued it for strength.
4  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Mustang Magnet on: October 05, 2007 11:51:29 AM
My own real, beautiful, bay roan mustang was my muse for this magnet.  I sculpted it with white sculpey clay, then I painted and coated acrylic for protection.  The magnet is embedded in the back.
5  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Completed Projects / Siamese Cat Wooliture on: October 03, 2007 09:25:14 PM
This is a soft sculpture I made entirely of naturally colored, sheep and llama wools by needlefelting.  Except for the beautiful clear turquoise beads for eyes that are needlefelted in place.
6  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / FAT Pug Bead on: October 03, 2007 09:20:32 PM
This is a pretty small but FAT Pug Bead.  I made him with white polymer clay, then painted, then coated with acrylic.

7  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Mermaid and Fjord on: October 03, 2007 09:15:20 PM
Here's a little mermaid I sculpted with white sculpey clay.  I had her all painted and then accidentally blobbed her face with the tip of a black paint covered brush.  When I washed that off, all the face paint came off.  I had to put her down for a while.  I then painted her face again.  Then I coated with acrylic.

And here's a Norwegian Fjord Horse that I sculpted out of wool, but the hooves are polymer clay that I sculpted and painted.  I added them to the needlefelted wool sculpture with a process that I created.
8  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Completed Projects / Wooliture Lamb on: October 01, 2007 03:03:37 PM
Here's a little lamb I needle felted.  I work at a large sheep farm each year helping to bottle feed the lambs. (Sometimes the poor ewe will have quintuplets or quadruplets or triplets and doesn't have enough milk at first.)  I LOVE those baby lambs!

This little baby is entirely needle felted with a single needle using different naturally colored sheep and llama wools.  He has two little hooves on each foot and beads for eyes.

9  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Completed Projects / Wooliture Playing Dog on: September 28, 2007 09:12:48 AM

Here's a German Wirehaired Pointer that I call GetWIREDPeople!.  He's made of only different naturally colored wools that I needlefelted into a wooley sculpture, a "wooliture".  I have other woolitures that I've made of horses, more breeds of dogs and cats and a unicorn.  My main art love is to make custom portrait NF woolitures of people's beloved pets for them.

Oh and I'm brand new here.  I am a self taught sculptor.  My name is Gina and I'm a needlefelting addict.
