13  CITY GUIDES FOR CRAFTSTERS / EUROPE / Re: being a bit specific... looking for novelty print knit fabrics on: October 19, 2008 08:26:12 AM
i get most of my fabric from "Het Stoffenpaleis" in Hasselt (belgian Limburg). they have some knit fabrics. i once bought a colourful flower knit fabric in discount. "'t Wolwinkeltje" in Leuven has nice printed fabric, but i'm not sure if they have knit fabrics too.
do you know this event: http://stoffenspektakel.nl/ ? it's in belgium, netherlands and other countries. they have lots of fabric stalls.
14  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / anarcha-feminist flag on: October 19, 2008 08:01:37 AM
i've done some waving with this one already on demos:

it's completely hand-sewn, i didn't have a decent sewing-machine yet when i made it.
15  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / guitar pick buttons on: October 19, 2008 07:50:14 AM
i've seen ear rings made of guitar picks (plectrums) but i don't wear ear rings so that why i used them for buttons/badges (and also to play guitar):

these are all a bit anarcha-queer-feminist themed

i don't know what a hand-cranked drill is, but you can use a hammer and awl too.
17  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Re: Let's see your sewing machine!! on: October 19, 2008 07:38:12 AM
Here is mine: a Janome QC 6260:

It's quite new and i'm very happy with how easy it is to use to sew and all the options it has! i used my mom's very cheap sewing machine before and it was very annoying because it couldn't sew through a lot of fabric and it was hard to regulate its speed and all.

i keep the cardboard box of my own sewing machine in my bedroom so i always wake up wanting to sew something (but not really knowing what).
18  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / embroidered graffiti on: October 19, 2008 07:30:07 AM
I'm calling these embroidered graffiti because I picture them hanging on walls outdoors, sort of like art actions...

19  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / rabbit with chainsaw: beware! on: October 19, 2008 07:26:15 AM
this crazy evil rabbit was inspired by these designs: http://images.debanier.be/workshops/54-knuffels%2007jpg

20  CITY GUIDES FOR CRAFTSTERS / EUROPE / Re: craft store addresses and events in Belgium: hasselt, brussels, leuven on: October 19, 2008 07:19:27 AM
i forgot to mention something else: in hasselt there's a book store called De Markies Van Carrabas that sells very cool alternative craft books. other book stores like De Slegte have nice (second-hand) craft books too, but these are more in the DIY/alternative culture vein and almost all written in english. they have books on graphic design, art and architecture too, if you are curious.
