2  COOKING / Dessert / Please help me? ( a cake question) on: February 06, 2008 08:55:16 PM
Hi, I wanna bake a cake for my friend, She's turning 25
I want to use marshmallow fondant from this page:
http://whatscookingamerica.net/PegW/Fondant.htm

and the cake recipe from this one:
http://www.taste.com.au/recipes/12743/caramel+mud+cake
I was wondering, Would these flavors go well together, or would I be better off just using icing?

Also... I was thinking of molding the fondant over the cake so that a big green monster (based off the Puzzle bobble dinosaurs) Is eating the cake. Would that be too hard? Most of his head will be a thin layer over the cake, and then a little body hanging off the side.

Here's a Microsoft paint diagram:

3  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / No more cheap Pullips (They were 99cents) on: January 15, 2008 03:41:15 AM
Anyway, I'm getting

Prunella:
F-582 Pullip
December 2007

And

Fourrure:
(F-522)
September 2004

Okay, so their not my first pic, but I figured I'm gunna customize them anyway, so I might as well get them for 99C while I still can. And now I can go crazy on accessories!

I am so hyperventilating right now... The guy said he'd combine postage too, AND that he was going to put more up for sale... I so know that tis is way too good to be true, but I really don't care because at 99c it feels like I can fly!!!!!!!!!

EDIT:

I think that he probably ment to put them in as $99 but cause it's on a marketplace site there's nothing he can do about it!!! BWAHAHAHAH...

Oooh and did I mention that they're NEW IN THE BOX NEVER BEEN OPENED!!!

yep... probably too good to be true

Edited again:

Get this, last half hour of auction: No bids.

Last ten minutes already up to 60$

I may as well buy them from pullipstyle...

Sigh, I found the same listing with a dif seller tho... same dolls and all.
but theyre up to 30$ too
4  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / Buying A BJD on: December 09, 2007 04:48:29 PM
Ok, So I wanna buy a Honey Delf, (Pudding in particular) and her mesurements are as follows:

* Tall : 26cm (head included)
* Girth of head : 6.4 inch
* Girth of neck : 6cm
* Girth of chest : 13cm
* Girth of waist : 12cm
* Girth of hips : 14cm
* Length of "from shoulder to wrist" : 7cm
* Length of back : 6cm
* Length of thigh : 6cm
* Length of calf : 5cm
* Girth of ankle : 4.8cm
* Foot : 4cm

Is this close enough to pullips and Blythes to use the same patterns?

Also... Should I go the extra $44 and get her make up done for me? or should I try it myself?

Edit:

I went on the American Volks site, and I figured that I could get a doll with hair and eyes for just over $50 AU. Only thing is... they only ship to America, does anyone know if any of the Volks pages ship worldwide? preferably the english ones
5  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / Knock Offs on: December 06, 2007 08:08:06 PM
Okay, so I know that the "Little Big Eyes" Dolls are Blythe knock offs, But does anyone know of any Pullip Knock Offs? I'm too poor for proper Pullips and would love a knock off almost as much Smiley

Hey Ma! Look What I crafted today!

Hi guys Smiley I had about 30 minuets before I had to go to work today, and I decided I should make a doll. The whole thing was done in about an hour, cause I did it on the way to work, while I was waiting to start, and then on the way home because it turned out I wasn't even working today. So, I made the pattern, PM me if you'd like a copy. The one I made is a little bit odd, because I used a fraying fabric and her stuffing seam split, so now instead of bending at her hips, she bends half way down her thighs. Also, does anybody know how to make the arms come out right... these ones are kinda half scrunched up in the armpit and it makes her arms join to her torso too low.

Anyway.. she's roughly the same size as a Barbie, only her legs are shorter and her torso is longer. (This wouldn't have happened had her legs not decided to fray themselves away whilst I was stuffing her.)

Her Name is Corlette by the way, she just told me so  Tongue

Here she is in her little farmer outfit, okay she beat up my Barbie and took it off of her but no one needs to know. She's making wine Smiley

Here she appears in a pretty blue gown, she is preforming a verse of Shakespear.  He is her favorite.

Here she is looking rather fashionable, she's walking down the catwalk!

Boys avert your eyes.
Here she is 100% Au Natural!
7  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / Fawn Pattern on: October 24, 2007 02:52:55 AM
Does anybody have a copy of the fawn pattern from the patterns page in Toys, Dolls and Playthings? Huh I forgot to save it, and now the computer tells me the file has been removed from the website!  Cry I really want to have a go at sewing something a bit harder than what I'm doing at the moment Wink, and I thought the Fawn would be a good place to start. Undecided
