Wow! this is so super dooper cute! I can't believe how awesome an idea this is... Do you think you could do a tutorial for it? I'm sure I'm not the only one who would like an Ipod carry-case like this!

4  COOKING / Dessert / Re: Please help me? ( a cake question) on: February 08, 2008 10:36:02 PM
Well, She's a twin so I was thinking that they could share the cake, I don't want to spoil the surprise by telling either of them that I'm making a cake.
I've changed my mind a little though. I asked what their favorite colors were, and they both said yellow!
also instead of the dinosaur I've been thinking that I'm going to make a hat-box cake!
5  COOKING / Dessert / Please help me? ( a cake question) on: February 06, 2008 08:55:16 PM
Hi, I wanna bake a cake for my friend, She's turning 25
I want to use marshmallow fondant from this page:
http://whatscookingamerica.net/PegW/Fondant.htm

and the cake recipe from this one:
http://www.taste.com.au/recipes/12743/caramel+mud+cake
I was wondering, Would these flavors go well together, or would I be better off just using icing?

Also... I was thinking of molding the fondant over the cake so that a big green monster (based off the Puzzle bobble dinosaurs) Is eating the cake. Would that be too hard? Most of his head will be a thin layer over the cake, and then a little body hanging off the side.

Here's a Microsoft paint diagram:

6  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / Re: face-up for bjd on: February 01, 2008 12:07:04 AM
I know that you posted this so that you would know how to do it, but I make templates for the different face molds going around, mabey you could use one to get an idea of how you want your doll's make-up to look. If you plan it out first you'll have a better end result.
Example Templates:

Also:
Go Slooooooooow! I don't care how fast you think you can go. Do it as slow as possible, slower brush strokes are equal to smoother strokes! (I'm talking paint here, If you end up using pastels, softer faster strokes are better!!!)
7  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / Re: The Long Awaited Poppet-Along on: January 23, 2008 01:10:01 AM
Hey there, I cut out the pieces for my poppet today, and I made her some pretty colorful hair.

She's going to be a greyish-brown kitty with hot pink hair, streaked with light purple.

I already have some awesome ideas for poppets numbers 2 & 3:

A panda poppet: Bear ears, black rings around her eyes, black ears, arms, legs and tail, white torso.

And a Rabbit poppet: White body, made with fleece (would this work?) rabbit ears with pipe cleaners for pose-ability. Pom Pom tail!

Whats the verdict?

Edit:

What is the average circumference of a poppets head? I understand that each poppet will be a bit different, but does anyone know?

Update:

I screwed up, everything that could go wrong did. the fabric frayed, even though the lady at the store said it wouldn't. I forgot to sew the tail and ears on, and I somehow sewed the foot on a weird angle, the eyes I bought were 2 different styles and colour, one was a post eye the other had to be sewn on. the joints I used were missing bits, and i sewed the head together the wrong way.
8  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / Re: No more cheap Pullips (They were 99cents) on: January 21, 2008 01:20:06 AM
To be honest... the pullips really weren't what I wanted. I think I just got exited at the price. I guess theres no point buying if I don't lavish them with love.
9  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Basic Beanie for Pullip doll (will also fit Blythe) on: January 16, 2008 02:01:58 PM
Ok, will someone help me with this?

I'm pretty confident about this pattern, I'm still a noob, but I'm a fast learner. I think I know what I should be doing... Except for the last bit on ever line.

I mean:

inc 1* (18{or other number})

Seriously, what the hell does that mean?
10  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / No more cheap Pullips (They were 99cents) on: January 15, 2008 03:41:15 AM
Anyway, I'm getting

Prunella:
F-582 Pullip
December 2007

And

Fourrure:
(F-522)
September 2004

Okay, so their not my first pic, but I figured I'm gunna customize them anyway, so I might as well get them for 99C while I still can. And now I can go crazy on accessories!

I am so hyperventilating right now... The guy said he'd combine postage too, AND that he was going to put more up for sale... I so know that tis is way too good to be true, but I really don't care because at 99c it feels like I can fly!!!!!!!!!

EDIT:

I think that he probably ment to put them in as $99 but cause it's on a marketplace site there's nothing he can do about it!!! BWAHAHAHAH...

Oooh and did I mention that they're NEW IN THE BOX NEVER BEEN OPENED!!!

yep... probably too good to be true

Edited again:

Get this, last half hour of auction: No bids.

Last ten minutes already up to 60$

I may as well buy them from pullipstyle...

Sigh, I found the same listing with a dif seller tho... same dolls and all.
but theyre up to 30$ too
