121  Presents for my group members in Knitting: Completed Projects by ckchan on: January 13, 2008 07:07:17 PM
It's been a while since I have posted on here.  I just wanted to share with you all some presents I made for my senior design group.

For the boys, some beanie hats:

For the girl, a calorimetry:

She always had her hair in a ponytail, so I thought this was better for her.

Just a bit background info, I pretty much spent my last semester with these three people.  We saw each other everyday, average 6 to 8 hours a day.  Let's just say we got to know each other pretty well.  I'll definitely miss them though.  They were some really awesome people.

Comments greatly appreciated!

125  My first COMPLETED sweater in Knitting: Completed Projects by ckchan on: November 12, 2007 12:20:51 PM
I've made several attempts at knitting a sweater.  Most of them end up just sitting around half done.  This is the first one that I finished, and I actually really like it.  I'm giving it to my friend who decided to give up on knitting and gave me all her knitting stuff (needles and yarn).  I got the pattern from knitty.com.  It's called Candy.

Comments greatly appreciated!  Thanks!

126  Little Red Riding Hood Costume in Costumes: Completed Projects by ckchan on: October 28, 2007 07:31:41 PM
Everything except the hood part of the costume was reconstruction.

I bought the hood at Wal-Mart.  I made the skirt from the hood because the hood was extremely long.  I made the top from a white shirt, black shirt, and some red ribbons.

Reconstructed Part:

128  First Tote Bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by ckchan on: October 02, 2007 06:16:44 PM
Got really inspired by all the cute stuff I've seen, so I made a tote.  It's definitely not great, but it has taught me some stuff so that I can make my next one better.

129  Linkin Park Top & Dress in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by ckchan on: October 02, 2007 06:12:26 PM
Kinda late post, but here goes the story...

So after spending lots of time on this forum, I decided to sew something up for a Linkin Park concert (Early September) using old shirts.  These being my actual first sew, I am quite proud of them.

Simple tube top:  I drew the symbol on by hand:

Close up:

Tube top dress: I made the screen prints for the symbols, the process took really long.  It was all worth it when I got complimented at the concert.

Here's the link to the screen print tutorial:
