1  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / fava bean love on: April 12, 2009 11:06:45 PM

2  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Golden Slippers on: April 06, 2009 01:38:34 PM
When I was in Seattle visiting my sister, I bought some school bus yellow manos del uruguay stria on whim. I tried to knit it but was not feeling it. I was inspired by another craftster who used this pattern (http://crochetme.com/frolicking) but modified it. They turned out a little big but still comfy.

3  HOME SWEET HOME / Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Discussion and Questions / are corn and nasturtium companion plants? on: May 22, 2008 09:55:39 PM
howdy all. so i have corn, pole beans, winter melon, carrots, and sunflowers in 4x8 raised box. since it's been getting warmer, i've been thinking about mulch (woooo!!!). the winter melon should provide cover but i'm not sure how much and if i can even direct it. so i was thinking: maybe nasturtium... since they grow like crazy, they'd be perfect living mulch. but i'm not sure how they will impact the corn (i've read that beans/sunflowers/nasturtiums can be grown together). does anyone know?
4  COOKING / Dessert / chocolate cupcake filled with mint chip ice cream and topped with mint ganache on: April 14, 2008 12:25:13 AM
so my boyfriend wanted ice cream cake for his birthday. i didn't have much time, so that wasn't going to happen. but cupcakes filled with ice cream was totally do-able.* they turned out super yummy.

chocolate mint ganache (heavy cream, semisweet chocolate, and mint extract), dark chocolate cake mix, and mint chip ice cream.

i learned that frozen veggies are no substitute for an ice bath to cool the ganache. i ended up putting it in the fridge for a half hourish. Cheesy

5  HOME SWEET HOME / Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Discussion and Questions / in need of large tomato pots but can't spend too much money....please help! on: April 13, 2008 11:47:20 PM
Howdy all. So I'm in need of 4 large pots/containers for tomato plants but I really don't want to spend $20 per pot (that's what a huge plastic one at osh costs). They need to be at least 2ft+ deep. Any ideas on what I could use?
6  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / My Version of the Pretty Puffs Slouchy Hat on: April 06, 2008 03:37:35 PM
I made this last fall. I used the wrong yarn (sport instead of worsted) and the wrong hook size (I instead of K)...so yeah the hat would probably fit a small child. Haha. But I had a lot of fun making it and ended making one with the correct yarn and hook (forgot to take a picture before giving it to my sister). On with the pictures:

7  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / The socks! on: April 06, 2008 03:28:48 PM
Howdy all! So with the help of a friend and knitting and frogging and knitting again I finished a pair of socks. I used rowan dk cashsoft and love it. It's sooo soft. The pattern was fairly easy considering I had been only knitting for 1.5 months when I started them. So here they are:

the closest I could get to the capturing the color.

wrong color but shows the texture of the waffle stitch.
