2  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / What happens to those missing socks? on: April 13, 2011 06:50:24 PM
It is an age old question that my brother attempted to answer to his seven year old daughter. When my niece told me the story of the GREEN MONSTER crochet inspiration struck

I whipped him up in just a couple of days about 6 months ago. he was the perfect use of all my scraps of cotton yarn and was a lot of fun to make cause i just made him up as i went along. the sock are made with felt scraps accented with sharpie. My niece and brother loved it. He proudly resides on the bookself in her bedroom.

5  COOKING / Dessert / first fancy cake, first cake contest on: March 21, 2010 06:48:42 PM
I love to bake and have been making fancy cupcakes for a while so i decided to give it a try and made an ice cream sundae cake for a contest on family fun's websitehttp://family.go.com/2010-cake-contest/creative_and_unique/triple-scoop-sundae-24025/
It is pretty weak compared to yall's cakes but i am proud of it.  i used simple supplies and it took me only about an hour and a half to decorate.

Let me know what yall think.  You guys should enter.  The grand prize is one of those kitchen aid mixers
6  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / cupcake purse redemtion on: April 26, 2009 07:08:32 PM
this is my second attempt at the cupcake purse the first one i posted on her let me say was just plain weak.  Well this time i think i ironed out the kinks

first of all i got my sister in law who's photography skill is waaayy better than mine.  the actual construction if far more sturdy than the first because i doubled up the strand on the cake part.  also i learned to put to beads on the wrong side row so they would show up better.  let me know what you think.
7  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / mmm.. crocheted cherry pie on: April 19, 2009 02:39:49 PM
so i made a couple of cupcake pin cushions and thought a pie one would be adorable. I used a chunky weight grey yarn for the pie plate and an h hook which makes it hold its shape.  the cherry later is popcor stitch. than i made the lattice and put it over top making sure some of the cherries poked out.  to finish it off i added a scalloped edge much like a real pie would have.  i am gonna do a blueberry one next.  id love to know what you think i am rather proud of it.
