Thanks so much for posting those links!  Those are very helpful.  The pendants are absolutely gorgeous!

12  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: 1st Wood Burning Project on: November 26, 2007 10:02:03 AM
These aren't my own designs, I could never have the patience to draw those knots!  Smiley  I used Dover clip art books for the source of both designs.

Eve - I do understand what you mean.  That's a good idea, I will definitely try that next time.

Thanks for your support  Cheesy

13  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / 1st Wood Burning Project on: November 25, 2007 04:38:29 PM
I've never posted a finished project before...I hope this is the right forum for wood burning.  The first picture is of the Celtic Horse that I did for practice, and the second picture is my finished project, a Celtic Knotwork frame.  I don't like the 4 knots in the corners, which is why I haven't finished it with any stain and sealant.  But otherwise, it was a lot of fun.

Hope you like!

14  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Re: Are DVD or Jewelry Packages from Wire-Sculpture.com worth to buy? on: October 31, 2007 05:52:33 PM
I did buy the entire set from Preston some years ago, and found that *most* of the videos are not worth the money.  They are a lot like home movies, poor sound quality and sometimes shaky.  I have found that I got a better grounding of the basics from books.  Much of Preston's stuff all starts to look the same after a couple of videos.  The videos on technique aren't too bad, you will probably learn something new or useful from each, but the videos on how to sell are definitely worthless.

15  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Re: crimping pliers- help on: October 31, 2007 09:53:07 AM
I have definitely found that the problem can lay more with the quality of the crimping bead rather than the actual tool.  I have had a couple of bad tools, but even working with cheap tools, I can get a good crimp using sterling silver crimps rather than silver plated.

Nice tutorial.  Thanks so much for sharing.  This ring is very pretty and I can definitely see the possibilities for this unique design.
