Thanks for the compliments! I was excited to make it. Like I said, I have admired the post card for awhile!

SillySlippers- haha!!!

kneedeepnsurprise- thanks!

Batzilla- thanks! It wasn't easy.

chimes- yes, yes I do. That's exactly why I used it! Otherwise I wouldn't have a chance.

MareMare-thanks! It was kinda fun! Wink

beaotch-thnaks! Glad you like it.

So, I am not sure how I feel about eating the fondant. Perhaps I should have flavored it or rolled it out more. Then again, if it was too thin, it may have broken. I truly appreciate all of the kind words. I don't expect to win, but it was fun entering!

Well, I have never entered a challenge before and at the last minute, literally, I tried cake decorating. I highly doubt that Chef Duff would hire me but I figured I would try.

I have always liked the song by Jay-Z, "99 Problems" but when I saw Rebecca A Rakstad come up with this beautyhttp://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=18084829 in postcard form, I knew I had to some how recreate it. I love it so and since embroidery and cross-stitch are my new pastimes, I thought that I would add cake to the mix. Like I said this is my first cake decorating and first challenge so, please, be nice.

Thanks for looking! Sorry I forgot the during pics.

I would normally just post the pics over posting a link, but I seem to be having issues downsizing my photos. My apologies.

what kind of fabric did you stitch it on? Couldn't you just iron the crease out? Just a thought. I love this project. Such an awesome idea. Nice job!

threegirlsandaboy- Yeah, I usually do too, but I wasn't sure about the canvas. Wrinkled huh? Hmm, I might have to test a piece. THANKS for your quick response and sound advice!
7  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / [Pre-washing fabric question] Anyone that has used canvas on: December 06, 2008 11:30:50 AM
Hi all! I was just curious if you have used canvas for tote bags and such, did you wash the canvas first? I am making tote bags for christmas presents and I have never used canvas. I usually wash cotton before making projects, but I wasn't sure about canvas. Suggestions, hints, advice? Thanks.
