Here they are!  The pic is terrible, but I hope you can see past that.  They really did turn out better than I imagined!

2  how do i attach these? in Weddings and Bridal Showers by rhettsmommy on: February 03, 2008 07:12:28 PM
I have made these hair combs fro the bridesmaids, but I don't like how the wire and everything shows at the top.  (sorry for the blurry pic)

I have all these seed beads left over, but don't want to string them and wrap, can you think of any other way I might be able to attach them?

I tried hot glue on a headband, it didn't work very good.  I'll keep trying other things, but any help you all might have would be appreciated. Huh

Okay, here are some of the chair names plates I was working on last night with my Cricut!

I thought I put the larger pic on here, so you could see them, not sure how to chane it.  Both pics are in photo hosting

I finally got this fixed after the little guy deceided to play IN it!!  As you can see, I still have a few stones left to hot glue back on!

I have more, but don't have my camera with me right now, I'll try to get more up later.

I have been racking my brain on these, I think I'm pretty happy with them this time.  Let me know what you think.  Don't pay attention to the cuts, I had to do them with scissors, Had a mild mishap with the paper cutter!

Thanks!

OKAY PEOPLE, I'M ON A ROLL NOW.  HERE IS THE MOCK UP OF MY INVITE.  THE OUTSIDE CREAM PART WILL BE THE INVITEES NAMES CALIGRAPHIED IN BROWN INK. THEY WILL BE "TACKED" DOWN WITH GLUE DOTS, SO AS NOT TO BE SO FLAPPY. ALSO, I THINK I'LL ADD A TURQUOISE "STRIPE" OF RIBBON ON THE FRONT ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE NAME TAG.

FRONT OF INVITE

INSIDE OF INVITE

WHAT DO YOU THINK...WHAT SHOULD I CHANGE?

THE "dK" ON THE LEFT SIDE IS OUR LIVESTOCK BRAND, IT'S ON ALL THE PAPER THINGS AT THE WEDDING, I WANT TO INCORPORATE IT IN THE CENTERPIECES, BUT NOT SURE HOW TO, ANY IDEAS ON THAT?

Okay, I need your opinions.  I finished the headpieces for my niece (the flowergirl), had no intentions of making two, but once I got started, I figured better see what I could do... her dress is ivory with a tan sash.  she will be carrying a brown basket with turquoise ribbon on the handle with red rose petals and I think red shoes (have not found them yet).

the red flowers have turquoise beads in the center

turquoise "berries" and red beads

Cannot decide which I like best.  Whichever one I (we) pick will have turquoise ribbin hanging down her back (that matches the basket handle)

Not DIY but still exciting...

"S" cake topper came in.  Can't decide if I should do some thing with a K & D, maybe make some using the turquoise beads I have on everything.  What do you think?

9  Re: Who did their own flowers? in Weddings and Bridal Showers by rhettsmommy on: November 16, 2007 12:26:22 PM
My wedding is in March 08.  I plan on doing my own with the help of some family and friends.  It will be an outside ceremony / reception in a big and beautiful backyard of a friend of ours.

Centerpieces:
Vases will be clear glass jars we've been saving, various sizes.  they will have maybe 5 Gerbera daisies in them with maybe some grasses. Nothing fancy.
Bridesmaids:
they will make their own bouquets and wrap turquoise ribbon around the stems.
Groomsmen & Ushers:
I think a single Gerbera daisy, all guys with different colors, to match the color of the one the girl they are paired with has in her hair, with turquoise ribbon.
ME:
Red roses and red carnations with turquoise beads mixed in, with seed beads around the stems to match the necklaces I did for the girls

Groom:
Red rose with same beading as mine will have
Mothers:
will get a long stem red rose with turqouise ribbon from their respective grandsons (whom are "ring bearers", with our son, actually they are there to make sure he makes it to the front)
Fathers:
Red rose bout with turq. ribbon
grandmothers:
Can't decide if I want to do the long stem or if they might like to have an actual corsage??
What do you all think?

Do I need to do ones for the "ring bearers" too, or is it enough that they'll be carrying a rose?

I will be going to the Farmers market and Costco, because both are fairly inexpensive and I have the orders in only a few weeks ahead of time.  I just need to get an acutal count as to how many of each flower I'll need.

Didn't realize this was going to be so long.  But it did help to actually think it all through!

Okay, I think I have figured it out...maybe.  Here are a couple pics of some of my red/turquoise things so far.  Will add more when I get more pics taken.

bridesmaids necklaces

Practice unity candle

Hand tooled leather guest book cover (I did not do this myself, but I had to share, I think it turned out gorgeous!)

Beads to hang from corners of red tablecloth overlays

I hope these come thruogh.  I also have the flower girl head piece done, will pull it out and get pic on here.

Bridesmaids will be wearing red dresses, guys in tan tuxes with red ties.
Tan tablecloths with red overlays, except wedding party tables will have 2 red runners (didn't want the girls red dresses against the red overlay).  What do you all think so far???
