33  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / really simple bags (caution lot's of pictures) on: December 15, 2004 03:16:13 PM
I made all these bags because my mom brougth me a lot of fabric from where she works, some are the really expensive kind but to her boss they're scraps Undecided . I had a few more but sold the to my co workers for $5, that was till i ran out of co workers, they all had enough bags, most of them bougth 4 or 5. I was going to sell them at a "bazaar" where people sell their handcrafts, paintings, and other stuff, called NOCHE DE GALERIAS  that's held the first tuesday of each month  in a plaza in San Juan (that's the capital city of Puerto Rico)  but no one wanted to go with me and  I'm  very shy and didn't have the guts. sooooo here they are:

wine with polka dots ^

beaded by my sis, I don't have the patience.

35  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / reconstructed shoes! with tutorial! on: November 26, 2004 05:30:20 PM
I bougth a pair of plain boring black flats and modified them with fabric [please excuse my gramatical errors as my first language is spanish] here's a description with pictures of the process.

1. that's the shoe I bought it for $8 bucks at a local store.

2. cut the sole off with an exacto knife. [didn't exactly used the correct materials]

3.cut off some taping it came with.

4. tore the whole thing apart along with the insole.

5. traced a pattern of the shoe on the fabric.

6. glued the fabric to the shoe.

7. top-stitched the fabric to tuck it inside the shoe.

8. stitched the back of the shoe so it' a continous piece.

9. sewed the little backpiece back on.

10. stitched some taping [is that the name for it?]
11. glued the sole back on [again used the wrong materials, it was all I had, but hey it's pretty strong held]

12. tada!!! finished result, and now to decorate with some applique.

please express your opinion and ways to improve it.
