2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Bucket Style hat pattern wanted on: February 17, 2012 06:52:02 AM
Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but years ago, (about 5-6 years) I found a free sewing pattern online for a bucket style hat. I made one for hubby out of an old pair of jeans and he loved it! I want to sew him another one but can't find the pattern anywhere! I want to say it was a hat pattern for a woman (or man) or maybe for a chemo patient. -but i'm not 100% sure.

Does anyone know of the pattern I want or a similar one? I know there are plenty to buy, but looking for this particular one.. and free is always nice!
3  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Crocheted ear flap hats on: January 10, 2012 06:06:45 PM
Technically, it's not a completed project cause I haven't sewn on the flowers yet. Does it still count to post here?

Made these with odds and ends of Plymouth Encore yarn. I've got two more to make before I'm done.

If anyone wants the pattern links for these, email me.
4  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Question about Brother 2500 on: December 26, 2011 06:04:12 PM
I just got a brother 2500 and very happy with it but I am having trouble with the piece that comes off to sew free arm style. It says it is an accessory holder but when I remove it and then try to put it back on, all the pieces fall out. What am I doing wrong?
5  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Ear flap hat questions on: November 14, 2011 01:15:59 PM
This weekend I knitted an ear flap hat pattern that was done in k2, p2 ribbing. The only thing I did not like was having to pick up and knit the ear flap parts on afterwards. I really like another pattern I used before that uses two sticks (though I can use circ's). I liked it because you did the ear flaps first and then joined them. I am trying to come up with my own method of making the ear parts first but can't figure out how. I want it in k2, p2 ribbing. and 18 sts when I get done. I can't figure out how to start it out small and increase it to large using this pattern. any ideas? i mean I know how to increase stitches, but not how in the ribbed look. I really like the actual hat pattern which is a CO of 96. The hat fits school ages kids to adult, which is an extra bonus! but I just hate the thought of adding the ear flaps on later... seems less durable.
6  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Baby sets. Some parts crocheted on: November 06, 2011 08:23:19 AM

would love some advice on how to make the ties for the baby blue bootie's. This particular yarn *bernat baby coordinates frays easily and when I try to make the ties the ends just come apart. Wondering if they even need ties. - I don't care for ties, personally.

If anyone wants the pattern to any of these, message me!
7  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Navy blue and orange water bottle cozy on: October 25, 2011 03:47:03 PM
I got the pattern here: http://www.finecraftguild.com/free-crochet-pattern-lovely-bottle-bag/

My friend loved it but said it was really big! It holds a 1 liter water bottle and when used with the strap hangs down to her knees. (She put a 16 ounce water bottle in it when it hung that low)

Any ideas on how I can make a better strap?? I crocheted a chain with navy blue and orange.

I made her a knitted ear flap hat and scarf in the same colors. but with white for the scarf. posted in the knitting completed projects section if you want to see it.
8  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Chicago bears hat and scarf set on: October 25, 2011 03:40:55 PM
I made these for a friend of mine. I also made her a matching crocheted (pic seen in the crochet section) water bottle cozy.

The pattern for the hat is found here: http://photokat22.blogspot.com/2009/11/kats-two-sticks-ear-flap-ski-hat.html
The scarf pattern is here: http://www.bernat.com/pattern.php?PID=215

I started it last Thursday and finished it on Monday.
9  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / first crocheted baby hats on: October 03, 2011 01:52:04 PM
After seeing some beautiful crocheted hats here, I was inspired to try making some crocheted baby hats. I still have room to improve, but I'm happy with what I made so far.

10  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Adult scarf questions on: September 26, 2011 04:53:54 PM
I'm making a scarf for a friend and she wants me to make it longer than she is tall.  (Some of you told me to make it the length as your height.) But I don't know how tall to make it.

What is the average length of a scarf? Not including fringe, which it will have.

I'm excited about this project. She wants it in Chicago bears colors and wants an ear flap hat to match. I'll post up pictures for sure when I get it done. Smiley

Also, I was just going to do it in garter stitch but was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for other pattern ideas. She wants it in navy blue with white and orange stripes at the ends with fringe...
