21  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / My latest paintings - nudie warning... on: November 30, 2004 05:25:49 AM
Just thought I'd post my two latest paintings.  They're acrylic/texture gel/gel medium on stretched linen.

22  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Top-down raglan on: November 30, 2004 05:10:15 AM
I just finished my first jumper (that's what we call 'sweaters' here in Australia) the other day.  Yay!  It's a top-down raglan knit entirely in the round using Four Seasons 'Zebra' yarn that I bought on super-sale.  At $0.99 a ball, it cost me less than $10 to knit!  I measured a jumper that I already own, checked my guage, did the maths then just knitted.  I love it. Smiley

23  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / a hat and some slippers on: October 22, 2004 05:22:24 PM
Here's some knitting I've recently finished. Smiley

The slippers from this thread https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=14885.0

And a hat based on the S&B Sparkle Hat, but knit with different yarn on different sized needles, more rows and more stitches CO, with eyelet holes instead of sparkles, and a thin thread of purple sparkly yarn added through the middle band. Smiley

24  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / stitch-it-kit embroidery projects! on: October 19, 2004 07:57:34 PM
I got my Stitch-it Kit in the mail yesterday, and just did my first embroidery!  Well, it's technically not my very first embroidery -- I embroidered Bart Simpson onto my sewing bag at high school in 1991, and recently put some letters onto coats I was making for my puppies -- but it's my first apart from those. Smiley

I'm going to do the kitty on the other tea-towel, and I've bought myself some more linen to make a whole set of tea-towels.  I also plan on doing some arty-farty embroidery on paintings for an art competition I'm entering, so we'll see how that goes. Smiley
25  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Box pleat skirt on: October 13, 2004 06:35:32 AM
It's spring here in Australia, so today I decided that I needed a new skirt.  With no money and no pattern but enough materials on hand, this is what I came up with.

I've made plenty of bags and stuff before with no pattern, but never really any proper clothes, and I must say it's very liberating! Smiley
26  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / some artworks... on: October 11, 2004 05:52:49 AM
Thought I'd post some of my art here.

I recently had my first solo show, and these were some of the paintings on exhibit:

And here's one from a group exhibition I was in a little earlier:

27  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Stencilled bag on: October 09, 2004 09:30:48 PM

Long time member, short time poster here with my latest stencil. Smiley

I sewed the bag and made the stencil myself -- it's Chanel Cole from Australian Idol (yes, yes, I'm a big geek...). Smiley
