I received from Phizzychick the most wonderful tiny house EVER!

The kids and I have been seriously ill so it took me a bit to post ... I am so sorry for the delay.  You will see even my pictures are pretty ill right now too lol.

the front door opens!  I love the icicle crystals!

check out that tiny spoon chime!

cute little bell chime on the back

the little window on the roof just does me in!

and finally she added a little chimney, but attaching it made it over 4 inches high so I got it separately!  Smiley

Thank you so much Phizzy!  I LOVE LOVE LOVE this house, it is so me!

We had redflag's Southwestern Chicken Stew tonight, with a couple small changes

2 can of chicken 3.98
2 cups rice- .30
1 can black beans  .59
1 can corn- .45
1 onion- .15
1 box chicken broth- .79
can tomatoes with chilies .45
clove garlic .10
cumin, salt- .10
total 6.32 and we have enough for tomorrow night and froze 2 portions ... darn if I could have used the chicken breast I might have made it.
story of the canned chicken ... it is something that I got for the emergency supplies and I needed to rotate it out and use it up.  We try to keep a good stock of canned meats and other supplies in case of another flood or some emergency.  Therefore, I would not normally use something like that on a normal day, but it is about a month until its expiration date. I got it so long ago, that I am not sure how much I spent, so I am gonna use the replacement cost for it.  I know the cost is a bit high, but that is the price you pay for emergency food storage that you are not required to cook.

I just want to remind States residents that you can save A LOT of money on shipping (over time) if you have an USPS account and you send priority.  The shipping is like 15% less on some packages ... but the DCN is always free for priority shipping ... that is .80 on every package! I have found that a lot of the time it is cheaper to send this way than first class, due to the online savings.  I save at the very least $1.00 per package I send out, domestically. You just need a debit or credit card to set up the account.  Plus you can order priority boxes and they will ship them right to your house for FREE!  AND you can schedule pickups on packages for FREE!

But if you ship internationally ... you may want to look at all options.  I just sent a 9 oz box to Italy.  The guy asked if I could put it in an envelope somehow ... to save about $15  Shocked Shocked Shocked.  I ended up going first class and about 2 weeks shipping time, but at least it cost less than my car payments lol.

Sorry to interrupt the craft talk, but with living costs and shipping cost and travel cost all going up ... I am always looking for ways I can still swap, craft and do things I love to do, but save money and figured others would be too.

Tomorrow is shopping day and I am so adding that Southwestern chicken stew to the menu ... probably minus the black olives Sad  ... I love them, but everyone else will turn their noses up.

I is supposed to be a cold week and I will be busy running kids and getting the after holiday stuff cleaned up and finished.  So, my plan is to make 3 large pots of soup type meals and break them down for the freezer.  I am thinking chili, the Southwestern chicken stew and something like a turkey noodle since I still have 1/2 that turkey (now in vacuum bags in the freezer).

Goal is $20 for the week's shopping and using up some frozen goods.

I saw the last gallery and thought everything was so friggin adorable! I wish I felt good enough to join this swap, but I've only made 1 stuffie ever, this past Christmas, from a pattern I found online. It was so fun seeing it form into a little kitty, but I don't know that I could come up with something cute and original on my own that's even remotely good enough, lol! I can't wait to see everyone's creations, I'll be following your gallery!

You can use patterns!  I made a bat for my partner by shrinking down a life sized pattern to a tiny one.

I have wracked my brain trying to figure out if I could make this work with what I do for my daughter.  Usually what I do is take my daughters cups and glasses that she plays with and customize  the drink to slide right into the cup/glass.

I am thinking any other theme but drinks are the play food swaps I will be participating in.
