1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Looking for vintage style pattern on: January 20, 2011 01:57:29 PM
I'm looking for a dress pattern that looks like this http://heartbreakerfashion.com/diner-dress-navy.html

I'm having a hard time since most dresses aren't this full anymore. I've concluded that sewing pattern companies put the ugliest example of a pattern they can find and slap it on the envelope. I can't see past the ugliness.

I've also seen a lot of actual vintage patterns that are similar, but they are way too small.

2  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Faux Headphones Hat on: May 27, 2010 11:48:51 AM
My brother requested this hat a long time ago based off some girl he saw on a bus. This took a lot of trial and error. I ended up adapting a coaster pattern for the ear parts.  Only a couple of pics since he had to go on a trip and wanted to take it with him. I could probably post a pattern when I get around to it. After many failed attempts and procrastination, here it is.

My brother in his hat. He requested pink, more of a manly dusty rose

3  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Street Fighter Scarf! Fight! Charts Added! on: December 06, 2009 01:00:55 PM
I made this Street Fighter scarf for my boyfriend based on these megaman-inspired sprites http://www.capcom-unity.com/street_fighter/go/thread/view/7411/20179857/Mega_ManInspired_Street_Fighter_4_Sprites as an early X-mas present.

I only used 6 characters because if I actually used them all this scarf would be about 500 ft long.  These are the ones he wanted. Dan is his favorite.

I also blanket-stitched black fleece to the back to add some warmth/to prevent curling.

In use by boyfriend--Dan Hibiki head

Each character has a life bar.  They are supposed to be battling the character on the other side of the scarf.

Ryu vs. M. Bison
Sagat vs. Dan

Charts Added - These are the only ones I graphed out.

4  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Team Fortress 2 Pillowcase - nerdtastic video game related embroidery on: July 15, 2008 09:56:26 AM
my boyfriend and I are huge team fortress 2 nerds. I decided to make him a pillowcase for his bday which was in March....I still haven't finished it. I wanted to show off the one part I have finished. I'm planning on doing a pyro and this gamertag on the edging.

6  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / kitty quilt - gratuitous cat picture on: December 21, 2006 09:15:00 PM
i made a little kitty quilt with some leftovers of the big quilt i'm doing
seen here.

the large one is my first, so I wanted to practice actual quilting so I made my kitty one.  She loves it and sleeps on it every night which helps keep the cat fur off my bed.

7  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / graffiti boy's man purse/hip pack on: December 21, 2006 09:12:09 PM
i made a little man purse/fanny pack for my boy who likes to paint. it can hold his paint pens/glass etch/mini spray paint in a convenient pouch on his hip. I lined the inside with liquid proof material to prevent any chemical burns and marring of the beautiful green plaid.
i also made little pen slots for his markers etc.

outside. my craptacular zipper job.

8  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Nintendo Mario Villain Scarf! CHARTS ADDED! on: December 21, 2006 09:07:31 PM
I made a lovely scarf for a friend of mine.  It only took me a year to make due to my laziness for making graphs and all the damn colors.  I lined the back with fleece. It's super warm too.  Disregard my craptacular photopasting skills.

graphed out the characters mostly for my own purposes. I intend to make another for myself that is shorter.

9  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / dinosaur, bats, and rat soap on: January 06, 2006 02:57:29 PM
This is my 2nd attempt making soap.  1st time making soap with decent materials.
I got some soap supplies at the craft store and then went to a dollar store and found neon dinosaurs and halloween party favors including rubber rats, bats, and flies. unfortunately the flies didn't come out out too well. maybe i can put them to some other use. i used green apple and lilac scents.
i also realized you can't really take a good picture of soap.

10  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Dinosaur half-moon bag on: October 07, 2005 01:36:30 PM
This bag too me forever to make because basically I had absolutely no idea what the hell I was doing, I figure it came out pretty well despite my lack of sewing knowledge. I made it based on [this bag from brooklyn industries http://www.brooklynindustries.com/Lexys-Handbag-P23C17.aspx  I just kinda figured out what is was made up of and sewed them together. I've never made anything this complicated, all i've made is a little zipper pouch.

I used some dinosaur fabric I had, added a zipper pocket on the outside, which kind of happened on accident. Here are some pictures
