1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Hat help! on: September 03, 2008 03:42:54 PM
I'm getting ready to make my hunny a fedora, but I want to make sure it is stiff enough. Has anyone made one with a specific interfacing or any ideas to keep it firm enough to actually sit and now flatten down.

Nothing worse than a hat that won't keep its shape!

Thanks so much!
2  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / New Bed Sheets/ bedding revamp Swap? on: April 25, 2008 05:02:44 PM
Ok, so I'm going to be moving soon and want to revamp my bedroom Look" with new beddings. I think it'd be fun to embroider/ die/ make/ applique and what not new sheets for some lucky person. Granted, this is possibly a bigger swap... but I still think I'd be fun.

Any one else want a bed revamp?
3  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Roller Derby Style swap? on: April 16, 2008 03:00:23 PM
So I'm not actually in Roller Derby but I do some graphic design work for one of the local teams *which I LOVE!* anyway... I know Derby Girls are crafty plus I just love the cute skirts, crazy socks and shirts.

So would anybody be up to a derby Themed swap?
4  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / I love My Mac! on: March 18, 2008 10:49:14 AM
There are some of us out there that LOVE our Mac computers. I know I love mine!

I was converted years ago and I'll never go back!

Anyone else interested?
5  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Single and Welt pocket Help?! on: March 13, 2008 09:50:52 AM
Ok, so I know there are how to tutorials on the internet. I Think I've looked at them all, but I'm not clear how to put in the pocket bag. I just can't pick it up from the how to pieces. If it's a different material (a cotton lightweight fabric so not to be bulky) how do you make it not show?

I'm SUPER confused. I have the rest of the pocket stuff done, and I understand everything else for making a welt pocket but the pocket bag stuff...well you understand what I'm getting at...

Thanks so much!
6  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / David Bowie Swap on: March 07, 2008 11:20:38 AM
I have seen so many people with awesome Bowie themed crafts! It makes me jealous!

In any event, I haven't participated in enough swaps or even know where to begin in starting one.. but if someone wants to start one in.. I don't know April sometime... I'd totally be in
7  CLOTHING / Costumes: Completed Projects / Little Mermaid Costume on: March 03, 2008 04:16:42 PM
So I made this costume for my niece last year for her Mermaid Birthday party/ Halloween. I used Simplicity 9919. If anyone uses this, the skirt sizing is HUGE! So I'd go down a size. (this is what the pattern looks like http://images.patternreview.com/sewing/patterns/simplicity/9919/9919.jpg)

Also, I didn't think the top was very Ariel. So, I made this one by sewing shells onto a ballet leotard to keep her warm and and look more Mermaid like.

That's my niece's dog Ollie. Isn't he adorable?
